Just wow. Like others have said I followed this guy on YouTube and instagram as I loved the quality of his videos and the macro shots are right up there with Watchfinder. Reading the details of his scam this is really disappointing and it's clear something has been very wrong with him for a while. I'm only speculating but somewhere along the line he decided the ends justify the means and he was ok with scamming and using any method to build his brand and make money.

People think they can stay one step ahead of being caught but sooner or later the lies catch up to you. He made this mess and deserves the consequences. I feel sorry for his family(real family in his wife and kids, not the fake family who's house burned down).

Interested to know what the implications are for offering forward dated illegal GST receipts to make fraudulent tax refund claims are.
I'd be worried if I was one of his previous customers that has made a claim using one of his receipts because no doubt the Australian Tax Office will be reviewing them now this has come to light.

A

They’ve cloned the 4130 except for the balance wheel assembly. All other parts can be substituted for genuine counterpart. It’s pretty amazing

I thought the same thing, three months of chasing up my money or watch would have sent me around the bend.

This makes me sick. I used to admire his works and his youtube contents. Now it seems like he only did it to gain people's trust in order to con them easier. The lost/delay excuse is like scam excuse 101 and the bush fire excuse is 100% disgusting.
I'm only worry that a lot more people going to fall for this scam. He has been putting lots of works making sure that the people, comments and threads against him were blocked or deleted. This isn't the way of FIXING THE ISSUE it looks more like he is COVERING THE ISSUE. Not the quality of a seller or a guy I would trust.

Hey guys,

So I dealt with Chris a while back regarding a Zenith Defy that he sold me. After the funds cleared, it took just over a week to arrive as opposed to the overnight shipping. But that’s ok, things happen. Upon arrival, the bracelet came apart from the case when I went to try it on. Found out that it was only being held on by 2 out of the 4 screws...I contacted Chris about this. He told me to get it fixed here in Sydney and he’ll sort out the cost etc. Once I had taken it in to get it fixed, I found out that it will take 6-8 weeks before the screws can come in. Anyway, I explained to Chris as he sold me something that was not as described, I would like a refund. He told me no. Following that, I Posted on the Facebook page and was told I should suck it up. 6-8 weeks pass by and eventually the screws come in, only to find out that the 2 screws currently on the watch were the wrong size and not OEM. I then posted the pictures and the detailed description of the events and people this time came around saying that actually the seller is at fault for the misinformed description of the item. Chris then quickly took it all down and deleted me from the selling platform. At this point he also turned on the function where the moderators of the group need to be approved for posts. So that he can control what is said and what is not said. Eventually the watchmaker who fixed my watch for me wore the cost of the repair as no AD would work with me and Chris disappeared. Secondly I then sold the watch as the emotion attached to that thing was not worth holding on to. I wish I had simply got a refund at the start as I notified Chris within hours of the watch arriving and the first thing I asked for was a refund. $1700 loss later, it’s good to see that he’s being ousted and karma is getting him where it should.

Sorry about the long post/rant. I do have screenshots of the convo’s but I don’t believe it’s worth adding any more fuel to the fire as there’s clearly enough out there for such a person to burn...ironic considering the lies and stock images he’s used.

Just hope no one else gets scammed by him or anyone else in the future. I now only deal with AD’s even if it costs more.

Well put yourself in the OP friends shoes. It was a wire transfer so the scammer was holding ALL the cards. Patience and persistence were the only ways to see this through if he had any chance of recouping his funds. Certainly a wake up call to anyone paying using unsecured funding methods.

I remember when that came up on the FB page, they were so quick to dismiss you and same with many of the other sheep there. I never saw the follow up, now I know it was because it was deleted, crazy.

Mate, you should absolutely post up the logs, feel free to blackout your details but it’ll convince all the doubters. Just like when this Daytona story came out, so many people still tried to defend Chris despite the damning evidence. Just have to keep it coming so it’s irrefutable. I hope you can inspire more people to air their issues or fraud.

I’m amazed how big a story this has become. Meanwhile, discussing the “supposedly” genuine blueberry GMT inserts has become non-existent and those who sold them still have their reputations intact.

Anyone hoping for a refun at this stage... you're dreaming.
Best hope is to speak out and put a group case together.
He'll disappear, along with his ponzi scheme and none-existent cash.

There’s been so much action in this I don’t even remember what the 6 month guy story was.

If this guy sold so many fakes, why did he bother with all the nonsense delayed/lost shipping bs? Surely he had plenty of fakes and easy access.

Chris is now gone from AWBSS, apparently his FB account is also gone / deactivated.

Also his https://www.horologyhouse.com/ website seems to have been deactivated as well.

This was posted about an hour ago on AWBSS ...

"We want your feedback!

If there’s a consensus that this would be beneficial, we’ll open up a separate post for people to nominate themselves or others, and we will create a public vote.

Same - I remember that being a wild one.

I think there were discussions about the watchmaker doing dodgy things with the screws or Chris was saying that the watchmaker doesn't know what he was doing.

I would like to see the whole convo posted.

Wow, I really respected HH's video production qualities and enjoyed the macro shots. This is beyond disappointing and it is astounding that there has been no forthright apology but rather just vague excuses on the part of Chris.
It's also led to such disappointment among WIS here in Australia that I have seen in local forums and around friend circles that people are, or have been considering, reporting his behaviour to his employer (BHP) as it's been reported he heads up projects there and needs to be a man of integrity for such a role. For context, BHP is one of Australia's biggest and most successful companies.
