Tags website states Monaco was first auto chrono which agrees with other websites I've read as well. Calibre 11 was created by Heuer, Breitling, Buren, and Dubois-Depraz in early 1969 and first placed in Monaco, Autavia, Chronomatic, and Carrera. I believe they were released at same time, but many websites, including Tag, state the Monaco was first auto chrono.

We're both wrong, the Calibre 11 was simultaneously launched on 3rd March 69, with the Autavia, Carrera and Monaco. Monaco was the first squared case automatic chrono.

Thanks. Compared to others, this is pretty modest. Other than the BLRO, everything else is easy to find at decent prices.

Correct. Don't forget Calibre 11 was released in Breitling model as well. Tag still claims Monaco is first auto chrono and first water proof square case watch when u click on that model on their website. I think Heuer did that since it was the birth of the Monaco....more hype. Either way, I love the diversity and history the Monaco adds to any collection.

Watch collection in 1 photo only

Very Minimalist collection but in my modest opinion an iconic one!

Very true, the release date of the Calibre 11 saw not only the 3 Heuer models, but watches from Breitling and Hamilton, all at the same time. There wasn't a particular watch that the Calibre 11 was exclusively launched with. Tag's claim regarding the Monaco is marketing talk. It should be read as a whole, "the first auto chrono with a water resistant square case". Heuer himself explained the choice of the 3 models that simultaneously had the Calibre 11: Carrera as it was a best seller, Autavia to cover the auto and aviation market and Monaco, because he wanted to highlight the new movement with a new watch that was different from anything at that time on the market. I think that Tag is pushing the envelope with their watches being the first auto chronos mainly because Jack Heuer was the artisan of the Chronomatic alliance.

Current state.

After owning several AP and Rolex over the years I currently don’t have any, would like to change that in the future.

For sure that spot the AW is using needs to go to a Rolex.
