They are all about my new watch! LOL So not quite personal...There needs to be aRolex for Dummies section if the board!
Ok--here goes: 1. What do the numbers on the back of my watch in the little green sticker stand for 178274? 2. On my warranty info (it's preowned but purchased from Torneau) is says C2004 what does that mean? Is that when it was made? I have the datejust with the blue face, fluted bezel, roman numerals & a new jubilee solid link? band..How can I tell the approximate value? I did a trade and got a good trade in value on that watch--upgrading to this one.. |

I know nothing about the little numbers on the back of the watch. I am also enjoying a fruity Lambrusco at the moment. Cheapo wine from Trader Joe's, but surprisingly good.
Just in case you were wondering.

Myself as well.
Hey I'm getting so old that hair has been growing in my ears for a few years now. Isn't that gross or what!!! At times I miss smoking and may return to it someday. I've always had thoughts of smoking with my grandchildren someday!!!

Leo, can I successfully grow grape tomatoes in a clay pot outdoors? The pot is clay, and is about 2 ft in diameter.

Carol, yes you can that pot is definitely large enough. Remember tomatoes like a lot of direct sunlight and in the summer months you may have to water twice a day. Because the pot is above ground it will have the tendency of drying out quicker. That pot is a very good size because tomato plants have a tap root so the less they are transplanted the better. Make certain you are using a soiless mix and that the pot has drainage!!!

What is a soiless mix? And can I cram more than one plant in that pot (I am starting from seed - educational for the kids)?

Soiless mix is one that has no soil(dirt). It usually is a mix of peatmoss and perlite(or peatmoss and vermiculite) and you can add in one part sand. Any garden center will have these mixes but get one without fertilizer. I'm not sold on the benefits of mixes having fertilizer built in. You can do your own fertilizing as needed during the growing season. Yes, you could put two plants in the pot to see which one is more vigorous and growing better, then weed one out!!!

Wow - no soil? How strange. I wanted to cram two plants in there to get more tomatoes.
Or, with one plant - is there a way to get the plant to grow in a bushier manner, by pruning?

One plant should be enough, they will produce a tremendous amount of tomatoes. One very good variety is Sweet 100 if it's available in your area(but this is a cherry tomato)!!!

Sweet 100 is a good one - we planted 3 in the ground last year. They produce a lot of fruit - the girls loved going out and gathering them up. Sure got them to eat their vegetables.
Yellow tomatoes and the more unusual little ones - like the tiny yellow pear shape - might also be fun to try, Caroline. Grape tomatoes - never tried to grow them, but get them at the store - they're very cute and tasty as well! |

(she's in mine, too.... a nicer person does not exist in this world...)
Good morning, Caroline. Today is the kids' first day back to school. Dreaded getting up early, but the good part is being back down to one child for the day. Do your kiddos get a spring break? |
