My nephew and niece were in my truck a few months ago. I said, "Sorry, my truck is a little stinky. I was sleeping in the cab during a recent road trip."

They both said, "No it doesn't, it smells like Uncle Jimmy".

My secret? Unscented everything.

Lot's of love here for Creed and Tom Ford. The funny thing is that I've never heard of either but I'll admit, I'm curios and have to investigate!!

I wear Bois D'Orage by Peter Bourdon, from Barney's NY....why, it smells like a Cigar Humidor, and it's exclusive to Barney's and I've never smelled it on anyone else.

I get the most compliments when I wear Creed Aventis... I have played in bands over the years at clubs and a few jazz places.. when I wear Aventus, I've had women stop me in bars, etc just to ask me what I am wearing as a fragrance.. not kidding. in front of their boyfriends no less. That's the only cologne that has EVER garnered that kind of reaction.. unfortunately, it's insanely priced for what it is. and after 3-4 hours it reeks to me. I don't care for it hours later. Therefore, it doesn't compare to their other offerings that I love (Green Irish Tweed, etc).

but I prefer wearing more "austere" stuff like Santa Maria Novella's Melograno or Acqua di Cuba.. I don't think others likely appreciate Santa Maria Novella as I do. Sometimes, I wear their Potpourii, which is ancient in its smell. I wear SMN for me--not for others. Melograno is timeless and will smell great anywhere on anyone. I adore their Peau de Espana from 190x as well. It's a bit strong so I rarely wear it. It smells like a horse saddle with pipe tobacco.

For the money, Creed's superior to anything for compliments.. Green Irish Tweed, Aventus, Silver Mountain Water (not my thing, but people love it).

The weirdest stuff I've ever worn/bought was Le Artisan's stuff. Mechant Loupe.. it was crazy stuff, smelled like a castle wall. I wore that at times, but after a while just didn't like it.

Another honorable mention goes for Guerlain's Vetiver.. amazing stuff and I used to despise it. Now I just wear it and it smells amazing throughout the day. At first it stinks of Raid roach spray (to me), but it changes quickly into a masculine fresh floral fragrance that smells like the ocean, to me. that is a timeless scent and a classic.

There's no wrong answer here!

Ol' Toilet

My new Fragrance for Land-Rover owners (old Land-Rovers, not the fu-fu Range Rover owner, who apparently would gravitate to Creed products....)

It is a secret blend of EP 90W-140 and single malt scotch. (don't tell anyone how to make it!)

Often I make it "on the fly" just trying to figure out why my truck is not running...

The new version includes Diesel fuel and Howie's fuel treatment. 'Chicks get sterile' from the smell... whether that's a good or bad thing is up to you.

Now accepting orders!

you can laugh, but I wear Santa Maria Novella's Nostalgia... and it smells like leather gloves and motor oil.. when I wear it, I can practically hear Rush's Red Barchetta in my head... it smells like a garage.. and yes, I love wearing the cologne because it has a soft vanilla undertone to it as well.. completely insane, but wearable.. I wear it out all the time and people have complimented it a few times.. so, that cologne already exists.. it's Nostalgia from Santa Maria Novella.. has notes of motor oil and leather.

Funny, my wife picked out and gave me the same, Bleu de Chanel. About to finish one bottle and now I have a back up. It is a great fragrance.

Chanel Allure and Allure Sport Extreme. When I wear either, my wife is all over me like a cheap suit.

Well....after reading so many praises for House of Creed, did a bunch of smelling and learning about fragrances, openings, top notes, sillage, etc, and settled after a good deal on Green Irish Tweed(GIT) and Aventus.

Green Irish Tweed is a very fresh scent, as the name implies, green, mossy, very rich, very clean scent. I wear this to work at the hospital as a physician.
I have tried Davidoff's Cool Water, and though somewhat similar, GIT is so much smoother and rich that I just enjoy thoroughly.
You can wear this year round, summer or winter, essence of a clean/fresh/green scent IMO.

Aventus has a very nice citrus opening, particularly pineapple, then it settles down with a little more sweet with vanilla and some spice from patchouli.
A very versatile scent, could wear this to work, prefer it for after hours and weekends personally. There is a complexity and balance I particularly enjoy that I do not find in other brands I have tried, such as Yves Saint Laurent or Bond #9.
Also a good year round scent.

These are eau de parfum, so they project well and have some nice sillage.

Highly recommend!

Never heard of Creed and was quite happy with my collection of JPG 'Le Male', Obsession, Fahrenheit, Boss and various others. I googled it and went to all the shops here and no one had heard of it. Last week on my Etihad flight from Abu Dhabi back home I saw it in the catalog, so I bought it together with Bvlgari and Terre from Hermes.

The funny thing is, when the steward came over to give them to me, he said that I have just bought the three best smelling men's colognes on earth and complimented me on my great taste. Thank you TRF :o)))

And they do smell great!

Davidoff Cool water is not a bad option if your on the fence about green irish tweed.

It smells terrible on paper. But when it dries down on your skin it's a very fresh clean smell, almost as if you are really clean and not necessarily a cologne smell to it, dries down similar to my Green Irish tweed.
