I'm 77 years old and a retired government disability program administrator. I didn't buy my first Rolex until all 4 kids were through college without student loans, my house and cars were all paid for and I had no other debt. I have a TT blue sub, a vintage DJ 36 and a new DJ 41.

Thats admirable, in this era its tougher and tougher to be financially responsible and have your priorities in order, paying off debt, ensuring a great future for family before spending money on material goods to communicate social status.

I'm a professional financial mathematics tutor and have three Rolexes. Most recent purchase was the 216570 polar bought last week.

First was the GMT Master 2 green hand, followed by the James Cameron deepsea blue 44mm.

I do not know how to work the 3 subsidiary dials. I can set the time and wind the watch, however, There are 3 subdials, at 3 oclock it has 30 units, at 6 oclock it has 60 units, and at 9 oclock it has 12. Im guessing this is for hours, minutes and seconds? How do I activate these? if i unscrew the two knobs on the top and bottom and press them, i can get the "30" dial to move, and the other button I can get the "12" dial to move... I cant get the second to move and Im not sure what purpose these have. Anyone?

You recieved a Daytona as a reward?!

37, recently separated with one child. Field training Officer for NC Probation/Parole. Two months ago I purchased a 34mm OP green - kind of like a what the heck, might as well since I think I deserve it. Now I have the regretful conscious about spending a lot on a watch rather than other necessities. Oh well! I really should have gotten the Sub, date or no date - but funds at that time didn’t (and shouldn’t) have allowed it.
