Which Seiko are you wearing today

“Kicking” off Seiko Sunday figuratively with a nod to probably one of thee coolest guys ever from my childhood; the great Bruce Lee and his famous 6139-6010 JDM SpeedTimer. I’m fortunate to have the coveted, very early, rare “TAD” dial with serif font on the sub dial numbers.

The 6139-601X is one of my favorite references to begin with so having this particular “Bruce Lee” example is a real feather in my cap as far as my vintage collection is concerned.

It's the same exact watch. His was an aftermarket rally bracelet with large oval holes and straight end links made by Kreisler, not Seiko. But he did own the black dial 6139-6010 I have. Mine is the correct OEM bracelet that came with this model. I have searched and only found one of those Kreisler bracelets but the seller wanted an absurd amount of money.

These are the closest aftermarket bracelets I found to match with holes. I have a couple and wear on my other 6139-601X's. I swap all the time.

Original Seiko catalog picture which shows Bruce Lee's and mine with that correct bracelet.

Bruce Lee's. Same watch as mine and the catalog picture above, but with the aftermarket Kresiler bracelet he wore.

I’ve had the SBDC107 for a couple of weeks and am having an absolute blast with it. Just about everything from the case size to the dial color to the steel (not ceramic, thank goodness) insert to the lug holes makes this an almost perfect watch for me.

That's great! You guys are killing me! I have been waiting for my SPB145 for months after the deposit with my AD. He's hoping in August, ugh!

Enjoy!

I have no doubt you will love it. If i was going to double up on this model, the 145 is the one I’d add.

Thanks. I chose that one for the dial. It's unique, subtle and differentiates it from the vast array of black dialed/bezeled divers on the market. Plus I was able to get $100 off, free shipping and no tax since it's from out of State

I don’t know to be honest. I guess you can call your AD. I contacted an AD like 3 months ago and put down a refundable deposit and was told to expect in August. So I’m assuming they’ll get some or at least mine...hopefully I see they have the 147.
