Hmmm......most grocery stores carry them, but I don't usually see them here until the fall.

Science geek here. Science experiments I can eat!

Plus, it's theorized to be healthier, as I can control the length of time it ferments, the amount of heat applied, etc. Since I can purchase a gallon of organic milk for $6, it's cheaper, too.

Darn, really? I just ordered some online to be shipped free to Walmart, so the only drawback is now I have to wait...

Never thought about Walmart, but now that you said that I can bet for sure they'd be on the shelves. I avoid those aisles.

Funny like a screen door on a submarine...

Speaking of homemade edible science experiments, I just came up from the basement armed with new scientific knowledge. Of the edible sort.

If you chew up a mouthfull of baby carrots and spit them out in the laundry chute, they will be effectively hidden in the pile of dirty clothes. Then, they will invariably go through the washing machine and the dryer. The end result is a lint trap filled with freshly laundered, perfectly dehydrated carrot bits. Why spend money on a food dehydrator when you can use this method, and have a nice, clean load of laundry to boot?

Hmmm. Somehow, I think Caroline's experiment is, um, better.

I remember those experiments. My youngest was particularly helpful when I needed to determine how long it would take mold to grow on sandwich crusts if stored under the couch.

So, Nancy - can you please tell me if, or how, the presoak of two parts grape juice with one part chocolate milk affected your results?

Absolutely.....it resulted in the need for new carpeting once we tried to rearrange the living room and put the couch in another place!

Carol, the flowering shrub with white flowers, does it also bloom in the summer as well as spring???
Sugar, what a substance, it has a wonderful way of making children hyper and outrageous and have no memory recall of what they did!!!

Well, I can't see the foliage too well to see what the leaves look like. Could it be a spirea shrub? They bloom in spring and some varieties have white flowers!!!

Yes, Lisa is going to have her hands full when this little girl gets older. My parents said to me when my son was born: This is our revenge on you!!!

Ok....poor Al.........I decided to get rid of the lily garden this year. It's been there for 8 years and it's time for a change. I had no idea how much work it would be for him to dig them all out. Yikes!!!

Better make him a REALLY good dinner tonight!!

I have to admit - most of the time they are tons of fun. It's that other 10% that wears my butt out!!

p.s. - you need to get Al a backhoe!

Nancy, what's going to replace the lilies? Knowing you, it won't be grass...
