Although I’ll need to see the data in print, my suspicion is in agreement with you. IMO, these are the phase 1 recovery vaccines that are out quick, will provide some effect to select groups but not necessarily be the “vaccine that returns the world to normalcy.”

My brother and I have been talking about energy lately as a means of diversification, but I agree with Brian - there are better sectors out there.

It's no secret that I'm a huge tech bull and will remain there, diversifying through different types of companies within tech instead.

Held LOW for almost two years and sold around September after a great run. What is your rationale on that one?

Sales were strong but the margin missed by .3%.

Online sales were up 106%. This is part of the stay at home story, as well as being an essential retailer if things start to close up again.

I have a full position in HD and feel that LOW is being beaten up unfairly. With a new CEO the are becoming more focused on improving their business.

HD is a core holding for me LOW is a trade. I want to hold LOW for the next 6 months or so and when I realize a nice gain I will sell. This is a buying opportunity IMHO.

Goldman sets an S&P target of 4300 (year-end), with Morgan Stanley at 3900.

Obviously it won't be smooth sailing and we'll see rough spots, but keep the longer-term outlook in your minds and drown out the daily swings.

And oh yeah - buy the dip!

BoA more than doubles it's price target on NIO to $54.xx. NIO down 5% on the day. Figure it's going to float around here for a little bit.

Technically I should have said Pfizer and Moderna, as opposed to their symbols. Sure there will be fringe suppliers, but I believe there will be one monster...and it won’t be either of these two.

Nope, not them either. Though I wish it would be that simple.

Did anyone stay in FSLY?
It's virtually back to where it was now. I took my cost out of this one when it was high and let the rest of it run. Be curious to see where it goes now.
I stayed all in on NET though.

The last earnings call left a bitter taste in my mouth and I now only have some calls in it; no more long-term hold for me, and I was one of the biggest FSLY bulls.

Have to be able to pivot in this market with the information at hand. Still able to make out at around 65% gain, but that's a far cry from the 130-140% I was up at its peak.

Thank for the update on your thoughts.
You're right about this market - take your eye off it for a few days and it all changes!
Do you think the swing back up to where it was is just momentum swell or is genuine confidence back in this stock?

That's a good question...

It's such a volatile stock and trades on momentum so much that I don't know how comfortable I feel about going back into it. It could just be a temporary swing up; we both know that on any heavy red days, FSLY will lead even further down.

I'd have to see what the next earnings call brings before I would venture too far deep back into FSLY.

It's been a crazy year. Could do with a sustained period of stable growth in 2021 but I'm not sure how hopeful I am for that.

More bullish sentiment as we continue to consolidate here.

My guess it trades sideways a bit. Maybe in the 75-95 range (wide range but under there is any news, I don’t see any reason for it to go to 120).

I’m still in, but not too sure why other than I am slow to take action to get out

NVDA sold off on a stellar earnings beat, could be a buying opportunity this morning, I am long NVDA and may add

Futures slightly lower this morning

Barrons has an "Investing in Tech" series and will be interviewing Cathie Wood of ARK today at 1:50 ET. Register if interested.

Still no big moves for me of late; just watching where we go from here.

NVDA also guided lower on chip sales next quarter. However, I agree that may be a good opportunity to add.

Yes and if history is any guide, NVDA typically dials back expectations. Their growth will only be slowed by slower economic activity, their AI focus will be strong for years to come and their chips are a must have for anyone in the AI field.

I can attest to that. I’m in the market for one now, and they are not cheap.

Good read here on big tech and why they are not currently overvalued.

Quote:
But David Kostin, Goldman Sachs’ chief US equity strategist, argues in a note that “fundamentals support higher valuation for FAAMG.”

Kostin noted that the near-term earnings outlook for FAAMG stocks supports the current valuations. Goldman is looking for S&P 500 companies to post a median annual earnings per share growth of 8% for the next few years. The tech group is expected to see EPS growth of about 17%.

Markets opened lower but close to even right now, I am holding off on new buys at this point. I will be taking more profits if we continue higher, there is no short term rationale in the face of rising unemployment and no stimulus for higher asset prices, IMHO.

Understand and don't necessarily disagree with you. I am, however, keeping a close eye on NVDA. If it drops to the 515/520 range, I'm in.

It has been on the radar but has eluded me for too long.

TTD and SE cruising today. Finally, some realization that SE crushed earnings and guided up. TTD up on a new price target of 900.
