Similar sentiment here - don't anticipate making any moves today.

NVDA never got to my entry point yesterday but I did sell my calls in DOCU. Otherwise, very light action for me lately.

Contemplating LOW OTM calls for April. That’s about it on my radar for today unless the situation changes.

More guidance from Mnuchin, saying there's still plenty of money to be thrown around.

Whether that truly happens is a case to be seen...

I do not want to derail the thread so I will refrain from commenting.

I will say that my concern over the short term direction of the markets is growing and I am taking more and more defensive measures.

Ended up opening a small position in NVDA at just under $530. Stayed away from this one for long enough.

Even though it's a pricey stock, Nvidia has been one of my favorite companies for a while. I bought in shortly after I built my first PC with a 980ti years ago (still running the new CoD games on medium graphics at 140 fps too!) Coming from console and moving to gaming on a kitted out rig playing Witcher 3 on 144hz at 1440p was mind blowing for me at the time. I'm kicking myself because I sold at $70 after buying in at $35 about 5 or 6 years ago when I was in my mid 20s- used the money I made for a down payment on my house. The shares I had then would roughly be worth what my house is today... if that gives some perspective lol. They make an amazing product, and the demand for their GPUs is simply astounding these days (it is way higher now than it was back then)- you know that a product is hot when there is a secondary market for it and it's trading at a 200% premium. The demand is real. Kind of reminds of a particular Swiss watch brand that I'm a fan of When I can get my hands on a 3080 or 3080 at retail I will be buying and building a new rig, either that or one of the AMD GPUs that were just released. Both are great I'm sure.

To me, AMD and Nvidia are the powerhouses in the CPU and GPU game, and I think they both have incredible room to run in the next 10-15 years as they expand themselves into a wider variety of industries- defense, telecom, automotive, robotics, etc.. PC and server markets will only grow in size in my mind as well as the world becomes further and further digitized. My 6 largest positions, from largest to smallest, are AAPL- AMD- AMZN- MSFT- NVDA- GOOG. My conviction for both of these companies is just as high as the "big boys" in tech. Phenomenal leadership (the only reason to be concerned here is if an MBA and not a technologist is made CEO ala Intel), phenomenal product, and great execution through the years. Even though they are overvalued at the moment- their growth is high enough that the valuations will eventually be justified. Both are turning into insane cash cows- and I really think we are just at the beginning of their stories.

Tend to agree with you all. Only long-term bet this week is a small investment in MP Materials, the largest integrated rare earth mining and processing site in North America.

Positive start to the morning Futures +178 on the Dow

Short trading week with volume likely to be light, could be some swings because of that

10 reasons for S&P 500 to rise more another 7% in the interim.

I'm not sure about that, but I'm still a firm believer in the higher outlook 12-15-18 months out and will continue to be nearly fully (about 85%) invested.

I agree the next 60 days could be volatile, then I believe we can move higher

Taking a look at CCI this morning, yield is 3.2%, price upgrades after earnings and 5G continues to rollout

Going to take a break this week as family is coming in. I hope everyone has a nice holiday break (those to whom this pertains, that is).

Enjoy the break! We're visiting family after work tonight, so not sure how active I'll be either.

To those celebrating the holiday, happy Thanksgiving!

Chinese EV players are skyrocketing today. Most strange, to me at least, is KNDI being up 20% despite an incoming dilution priced at >20% under current level. This has to be some sort of manufactured pump...

I'm staying strictly in the one blue chip EV name - Tesla. Tesla is spec / overvalued to a lot of people but at this point, it's a much stronger play than any other speculative EV companies (especially with inclusion in the S&P).

EV stocks remind me of alt coins in crypto in 2017. just mindless pumps on every single one of them. staying away also ...

Institutional ownership has been creeping up steadily on palantir (has more than doubled in the past month) and on the Chinese EV stocks. Makes me think that there is far more to this trend than FOMO if the big boys that have done their diligence are getting in on the action- retail investors would never be able to cause this kind of price movement on their own. Bought small positions in NIO and Palantir as an experiment early last week and not regretting it yet.

Fundamentals have been thrown out the window on these speculative plays- at least they are actual businesses though that have massive growth potential- would much rather own any business than something like bitcoin.

Palantir pltr has been around for over 15 years. I bought on IPO day and in the mid-$9s.

Only thing guarantee negative I foresee is the next round of shares being unlocked by employees.

If SNOW is at $250ish (part of the reason was Buffett ), PLTR is still vastly undervalued.

Agree 100%. 125m+ shares need to be bought for sp500 inclusion next month. Dan Ives increased bull PO to $1000 today. I think you see further run up into sp500 inclusion.

Be careful with PLTR, it has had a heck or a run. Only 20% of the float is available for retail purchase. I think people are underestimating the HUGE amount of shares that will flood the market when shares unlock next quarter. There will be a nice size dip and then time to buy. Or if you want easy money, look at the jan 2022 $20 strike and write the put for $8, collect the premium and roll that into calls for artificial leverage. If they put the stock to you then you are a net buyer at $12 which I would load the truck up on.

Other trade no one is talking about is COTY. Look at may 2021 $7 strike around 1.50 premium call. They are unloading a massive amount of debt end of month for a sale of their salons (public data). They also have 51% ownership in kylie cosmetics which almost their entire product line is sold out - ask your wife/gf/mistress about demand. The stock has gotten crushed this year, will easily be $10 by end of year. That should put the value of your call easily at %150+ gain or more by year end.

Hope people jumped on my MRNA leap calls a few pages back and are enjoying those 70% gains.

Agreed, Nio’s institutional ownership crept above 40%, which is surprising. Anyway, I am in Tesla camp for a while and won’t switch now

Futures up strongly this morning on a positive news cycle, Dow +327

I continue to watch and look for profit taking trades as there could still be some downside pressure on any bad news that might hit.

I opened a small trade yesterday in CCI, 5G will continue to be a story

Keeping this as apolitical as possible, Janet Yellen's appointment as the incoming Treasury Secretary seems to be cheered by the market and all those involved.

This should be a further boon for the market and economy in general.

CCI? When I look that up, it's a REIT. Same one?

Since the market doesn't like uncertainty, I think the GSA acknowledgement of the election results is moving the market more than Ms. Yellen's potential appointment.

Am I the only one here that thinks the market is a bit too high and worries about a correction?

Yes, 5G requires more towers

Yes, somewhat. However I would rather be a patient watcher and react if we see something break, I believe we continue to move higher absent any truly bad news or events.

Markets running as expected on light volume ahead of the holiday.

Taking profits in some small trades on CVX and COP on the oil pop higher

Not adding anything here after the CCI trade yesterday
