[QUOTE=daveathall;1104668]Had my Granddaughter and Nephew around today, organised an Easter egg hunt for them, my daughter left strict instructions that we should only give my Granddaughter 1 or 2 eggs, so of course we gave them 8 each, hey I'm a Grandad, that's what we do.

What adorable kids!!!! Yup....that's EXACTLY what a Grandad does!! Good for you!

We're meeting one of our sons, his wife and the two grandkids for brunch at 11:30. Got my camera all charged up just like a good Grandma should!

Thank you Nancy, good to keep the camera charged I missed loads of great snaps because the kids just seem to look away on purpose as my finger pushes the button.

Hope you have a great time.

David, glad to see you having fun with your grandchildren, they are beautiful and worth spoiling. I always thought that is one of the perks of being a grandparent!!!

Nancy, please be sure to post pictures of your grandchildren so we can see the angels I'm sure that they are!!!

House pics, as promised

Don't be misled. It's more than it looks. Very comfortable and economical to live in. I'll try to post pics indoor pics this weekend.
Here are some inside pictures. I apologize for the quality. My wife has the camera so I took them with my cell phone.
It's bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside and it doesn't look 109 years old.

Living room

Dining room

The windows separating the kitchen from the dining room are antique wooden Anderson windows that the previous owner (a carpenter) found BNIB and included in the remodel.

This spiral staircase leads to a bedroom loft. Weren't you wondering why there were skylights in the roof?

On the other side (not shown), below a skylight is a built in make up vanity for my wife and she also has a small walk in closet.

The house is only listed as 1,147 square feet with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath but the loft isn't counted as living space as it's not heated. This keeps the taxes low. The basement is finished and features a wet bar, wood stove, finished storage room and a workshop.
Yeah, it's small but not quite as small as everyone thinks.

I love it, too, Bill! It's very cute and you guys have made excellent use of the space. But I have to ask you - do the spiral stairs make you nervous? I know the proper support is there, but all that daylight between and around the steps would scare me. We had thought about installing a similar staircase in our old house, and converting the big attic to living space - the spiral stairs take up a minimal amount of room and that was a big plus for us.

Yes, no space is wasted here, but it really is comfortable for 3 people. In fact we hardly use the cellar and it's a bit overun with junk. It will get a good cleaning soon.
No, the stairs aren't scary because if you notice, wherever you step is right near the wall. You are never out in the open. Most people are a bit freaked out because the stairs are not supported, just suspende off the pole. My advice to people is to hold onto the pole as they go up and only one person on the stairs at a time.

These are the two little darlings we had brunch with. They look so innocent, but my son and his wife said that the meltdowns they had before they left the house were so bad they thought they were going to have to call in a priest to do an exorcism. After the girls...my beautiful daughter-in-law, next is Al and my son, and in the chef's clothing, my future daughter-in-law who unfortunately had to work the event! (she worked at the omelet station!)

Nancy, your granddaughters are beautiful and you should be proud of them. Your other family members are definitely welcome additions to the extended family as well. As for the grandchildren, I never had a sister only two brothers and we fought and bickered constantly. So I have no idea how crazy life can get with little girls but I'm sure they make life interesting!!!

Believe it or not, they weren't fighting with each other. The 4 year old (actually 5 in a couple of weeks) ...well....her biggest issue was about what outfit she was going to wear!!! Groan.................................

Okay, then I better mind my "P's" and "Q's" so I do not get in trouble with the ladies on the Forum. Olekumquat76 and Mellonhead1957 do enough damage representing males for me to add to the arena!!!

My granddaughter has to wear a school uniform to school, so she really enjoys the weekends when she gets to wear her "fun" stuff.

Thank you Dave! I actually have four sons. Three are married and one is engaged. We couldn't all be together because there are just so many other family commitments for the kids, and one of them lives far away. We were lucky a week ago when the one who lives elsewhere was able to spend a couple of days with us when he was in town on business. Gave us a chance to get together for an early Easter get-together. This week, we've been getting together with the kids, but one couple at a time. I have never wanted my kids to stress about having to be with us on specific holiday dates. Once they have their own kids, it's nice for them to make flexible plans so they don't feel pressured, rushed or stressed trying to make all the parents happy at the same time!

Nancy, you have made a good point and I'm sure her parents will do their best to assist her in her decision making process as well as her development as a young lady!!!

Love the glass top. Easy to keep clean and my wife puts a doily underneath so it looks nice even while eating. My son does his homework at that table and it's easier to write on glass than wood.

Great looking family BTW. Easter is a fun, no pressure holiday. It's always nice to get together, then home and relax.

Yeah...I noticed how easy it was to write on while I was writing cheques to pay bills.

We were so happy with it that we also ordered glass tops for our cherrywood coffee and end tables in the living room! I'm just happy not to be forever worrying about marking the wood...especially when the grandkids are here!

You're right about the "no pressure" holiday. We've done nothing but veg since we got home this afternoon.
