The streak of light in between the dial and the lug shot suggests something in space.

Just alluding to the fact that like outer space few humans will ever experience this watch.

Been away all day and see now it's hit 19 pages! All those turned off the brand and going to Omega are clearly a tiny minority.

Ok, I told myself I wouldn't read this thread until it got to about 20 pages long because by then the mystery must be figured out....so what is it?

I think the streak of light represents your chance of getting one, whatever the new it is.

Yep. It's a shooting star of bright white light. A white star, if you will. White Star Line made the Titanic. James Cameron also directed Titanic. What was the Titanic if not one really big-ass yacht? Ladies and gentlemen, I present the James Cameron Edition Yacht-Master, with a bezel suitable for timing distances between icebergs. A slightly more rugged model, it's perfect to wear both while sipping Champagne and watching movies on deck, or dodging errant chaise lounge chairs hurling at you as the boat splits in half. Still only 100m WR, but that doesn't matter, because you'll only get it wet when you sink, and if you sink below 100m, you're not going to care about your watch anyway.

its pretty clear the streak of light is your soul escaping your body because you just sold it to get this watch.

watch it again. You see a dial which gets you excited, then there is a streak of light as you sell your soul, then the watch materializes out of the shadows

Maybe it's the Navel Explorer, in tribute to what we're all doing here.

Not being able to obtain any new Rolex releases in a remotely timely manner really has taken away the excitement of their unveiling of new models for me.

Fell for it a couple of times over the years, but the marketing gimmick is old now.

Interestingly enough, I went through the HTML for clues. It's fun to try to read the tea leaves probably nothing though.

options="portraitVideo=/content/dam/rolex-58/homepage/hero-video-slideshow/collection/baselworld/teaser/teaser_mobile_0001.mp4&landscapeVideo=/content/dam/rolex-58/homepage/hero-video-

what is Rolex-58? Is this supposed to be a retro-line ala Tudor BB 58? I'm skeptical but I don't know what Rolex 58 is ... so maybe new?

rolex-58/homepage/hero-video-slideshow

Hero video? What is that in reference too?
