I would say, it doesn't even matter where you go, just bring enough time to experience the local everything. Sit down for a breakfast, see the world passing by, hang out in a park, go for hikes, maybe even get involved with local volunteer projects, meet the people. It's all about people anyways. Otherwise it just becomes sight seeing, food, and scraping the surface.
My most impactful trip was safari in Botswana. I have family in South Africa, so I'm some what familiar with the general setup, but that was special, tents, hikes, out in the bush life reduces to the essence. Doesn't matter where, Tanzania, Kenia, Namibia, etc.I loved Botswana for it's history and people. Always fun, Cote d'Azure, maybe not in August, some driving, for wine, Bordeaux, Loire, Champagne, I also love Napa, Sonoma and the coast. Maui for the whales and other water activities (im not a golfer). American Southwest, for its Native American connection, landscape, etc. Sedona, Havasupai, Hiking in Scotland, Nepal, Tibet. Iceland is a fav for work, fun, hiking and hot springs. Lofoten, Denmark, Sylt, loved Sweden. Amsterdam for the people, art and city travel, maybe for New Years. And don't underestimate the Germans, Munich, Berlin, art, music,History, etc. On that subject, the Mediterranean in general, Greece, Italy, Israel, Jordan and the Spanish Islands for summer laid back style vacation....I hear great things about Bali, Thailand, Turks, |
