If he sells it with stickers, go for it.
If you're planning to keep it, go for it.
If you're flipping it to China, go for it.
If you love it, go for it.
If none of the above, pass on it.

Nope, never. I’d buy a WG on oysterflex for 5-6k more.

Meh.....if you got the chance to buy @ MSRP in the near future I'd hold off. If you don't think this is possible, grey pricing (what this is essentially) somewhat makes sense IMO to enjoy it quicker and counter the risk of a price raise (long overdue for Rolex) to make the prices go higher. Even when the watch first came out people were ho-huming about the grey pricing around 16-17k and now it's more around 20k. Gotta blame the people buying them ultimately.

If everyone on this thread owns one then they would say YES

You should make your own decision.

There is a 6-7 year waiting list for this watch in London, if you have money and want the watch now. Then buy it, its only money. And as many members here like to mention, what does the resale value matter you'll be to busy enjoying the watch to care.

Most people responding say no but I dont believe its representative of the market at all. Grey price has gone from 16-17K early on to 19-21K today, so there ARE people buying around those levels.

If you don't have an AD relationship and can afford those prices, then go for it. Because otherwise it will be impossible for you to get it.

If that's your only source of getting one and don't want to wait years, than go for it.

DAYTONA SS CERAMIC BLACK for US$ 19500

No issue with paying a premium if it's something you want. Life is too short.

Amazes me the way people are slaves to MSRP - YOU should decide what you believe it is worth to you - that may be more or less than MSRP.

At that price, it's not something I'd buy expecting it to hold its value or to make money. But if you are planning on keeping it, who cares.

And hey, the $7k premium is pennies compared with what most people lose on a car each year - for some reason, watches have become like home improvements, people believe it's wrong to lose money on them.

If you want it and can afford it, buy it and enjoy it.

Neat find, however that asking price is crazy in my world.

I just saw a TT Daytona at the local AD here an hour ago; it was the version with the champagne dial with inset diamonds. It was at MSRP which is $18,850.

$19500 for the plain stainless? Nuts to that!

Nobody knows where the value of these thing are going to go in the future. If not losing tons of money is a concern of yours I wouldn’t buy it. I think a fair price is somewhere around $12,400 but maybe I’m crazy.

No, unless you must have one right away. Rolex will be making this watch for a long time. Good Luck.

I'd only ever pay this premium if this was grail keeper, which it doesn't sound like it will be to you, it will fall in value much like a PM when you sell it.

It's simply too high a premium to justify if it were me. If money doesn't matter whatsoever, and the desire to "own instantly" is that strong, then by all means do what makes you happy.

I would love to own this watch but I personally wouldn’t pay over MSRP for it. The current grey market prices are inflated IMO so I don’t think they will sell in the neighborhood of $20k in the long run.

However, if you love the watch and don’t mind paying $8k over MSRP, I say go for it.

It is $ 7000 more than the list price. We all know why..
But do you think it will hold its value over time ? Would you buy it ?

I would never pay a penny more than the suggested price. Never ... never ... will keep that price. But was it an official dealer? They can do that? Do any of the commentators know if something like this happened? But if you guys have checked it, it is not good to have heard it from someone else.

Agree I do not think anyone will buy them. It's all inflated.
The person who has $ 20,000 to spend a watch can also access a WG Daytona with a little more. Not much.

Hold 19.5k value no way, couple years will be down to where the 116520 was.Would I pay that for it?no way, most I would pay for the 116500 would be 14k so I won’t be able to get one for a year or two I imagine. But if you have plenty of cash then get it if you so desire. If I was a millionaire I would pay 19.5 and not care.

I've already repeated it several times ... they're asking for those prices for the clock but I'm sure nobody buys them. It is preferable one of white gold. With a few dollars more. And it will keep the value and maybe win.

It's a matter of dignity in my case. I do not like being cheated or robbed in the face. Before I prefer to give up having it. But it's how I am. Let each one do what he wants,
