This is a helpful information. Specially to people who are new to watch world. Kudos to the thread starter.

Just one question, how would you know or distinguish embossed hallmarks from factory original made and custom made? any other info? it seems nowadays, they almost copied everything.

I have seen the comment "its a fake" without further explanantion in a few threads. Ususally the pictures are so bad so it is impossible for me to see any details on the watch. Can anyone explain what details in daydate above tells its a fake. I could agree to that the diamond bezel dont look "right" but there are many aftermarket bezels to genuine rolex. And yes I have had a couple of daydates (genuine) so I do have some references.

if you read the thread you can see the hallmarks look like they are engraved by a two year old child, this guy is just trying to joke around.

For authenticity questions best to private message guys this is a reference thread thanks

Rolex Vintage

Hi

I am looking at a Rolex that's vintage and I love it so much.
I found your forum and read about the hallmarks.
I am posting the pics and maybe if you have time to have a look at it you could tell me if it's a real one.

Thanks in advance!

I just bought a pre-owned 2018 submariner TT Blue and it has tiny hallmark on the case back and on one of the gold links. It's tiny engraving of Rolex logo. I was told it's the stamp of Rolex France. Has anyone seen it before? I purchased my watch from a very reputable seller here. Appreciate everyone's help

you are correct some countries require extra hallmarking as those parts are solid gold in the band France is one of them can you send better pics (close ups) to me by private message i will compare to my research as a few countries did this and i cannot see them well enough cheers

These rules do not apply only to a president band; in the pictures immediately below we have a 1960’s ladies jubilee band, a 1990’s submariner band and an 18K white gold band with the same hallmark.

Great tip. Thank you.

A friend has a 2018 TT Sky-Dweller bought from a UK AD but there appear to be no hallmarks whatsoever on the gold links. AFAIAA the UK requires all gold items to be marked. Any observations?

Hallmark ID

This is a great thread, But am I missing something obvious? What does the “12” hallmark mean?

The key means that the case manufacturer is located in the canton of Geneva.

#12 - Rolex Industrie SA (case manufacturer ex-GENEX SA), Chene-Burg, Switzerland.
