Just saying 'i need a truck' is a bit..... thx.
We have a camper but it's only about 3,000 pounds dry. Would like the bed for the occasional hauling and moving of things. Crew cab because we drive with 3-4 people in the vehicle often.

Ahhh ok. Any half-decent truck can do that.

But get the F550 anyway. You know, just to keep her very safe.

Good to hear about the new 6.2 GMC. Anyone else have experience with this truck?

Definately the F550, but with a full custom gas turbine hybrid.

My wife has a 2000 Excursion with the same engine. She is the original owner and it now has 324k miles on the clock. When we went looking for a pick up truck to supplement the horse chores, the salesmen and the dealership were lining up to buy the excursion in case she traded it. She obviously didn't and it's still her favorite car.

Mine has the mechanical fuel pump and mechanical injectors. They added some electrical components in 99-00 I think.

Why are all of you "real men" discussing "little girl" trucks?!

The Hyundai Santa Cruz hauls everything a real man needs from a 24pack of toilet paper to a trowel from Lowe's. It handles puddles better than any one of those other puny rigs! If that's not manly enough, the Maverick Hybrid FWD will surely impress everyone at the job site.

In all seriousness, check GSA auctions for a pick-up that has the railroad wheels on it! Those are rad! You'll never sit in traffic again!

IMHO really none are worth a xxxx.....get a 90's Ford or Dodge......I would never buy GM junk. In truth a late 80s to 92 Toyota or Mazda truck can go 400k....seeing a 1990 Mazda with 388k in trade once....even the alt was the one it sold new with.

my mom just recently got rid of her mid-90s F150. i could not believe the dollars being offered to her for that thing despite rebuilt engine a couple hundred thousand miles ago, repainted body, completely worn seats, etc etc.

I have a 1999 F250 Super Duty with a 7.3L turbo diesel. The thing is bulletproof and still runs like new. Mine has the 6-speed manual, so no transmission issues, but the transfer case does require frequent (30k miles) fluid changes.

I appreciate everyone’s input! Made a deal on a 2024 Gladiator yesterday. It’ll primarily be my wife’s vehicle and after driving a few she felt a full-size truck was just too much of an increase in size compared to her Wrangler. The Gladiator will do everything we need it to do.

The color is Tuscadero. I think my wife chose it thinking I won’t want to drive it.

Cool color...I think Steve has one wrapped very similar. An outstanding choice for the lady.

I took my Jeep Wrangler offroad once. Took me about 30 quarters to get it cleaned up afterwards.

Never again.
