The in house has a more domed distorted crystal in my opinion so it's hard to say. I'll try to upload some comparisons later.

I've owned the ETA version, sold it, and now have the in-house version. Don't take the in-house movement for granted. Mine is +/- 0 seconds after a month. It doesn't wear noticeably different to me.

It's a great watch, and a definite keeper for me. Congrats on the pick-up OP.

Congrats, I'm looking for one on the bracelet, seems impossible!

Seen a few on the leather strap though.

I was determined. Why? Well I think this is the perfect blend of the past and present. The Gilded dial and hands are perfect. It has a slimmer case than the in house versions. It has the Rose logo vs the shield. It has the finely calibrated and upgraded top level ETA 2824 which runs around +2 daily. The ETA isn't sophisticated but it's charming. Everything about this watch is charming. The smiley text is charming. The Red triangle is charming. The bubble crystal with distortion on the edges is charming. The Bezel notched each day for the date is charming. Will it be worth a fortune someday? Quite possibly. Right now $3,000 for this example was a bargain I believe. But that's not the point of this watch. This watch is a quiet little secret of cool and searching for a nice clean example was fun. The public at large won't even notice this watch. Even certain WIS associates will overlook it. But privately you will always "get it". I hope to never sell it. I want to see it age gracefully and look like a well aged 6538. It's the kind of watch that gives me enthusiasm to reboot my collection and to build around it as this one becomes the centerpiece!

Hello - interested in where the comment above came from? Is the 3,000 confirmed or just a personal estimate? Beautiful watch btw...love mine as well! Thanks

He also said the Black Bezel was supposed to launch the in house movement but they at the last minute made a run of ETA Black. 5 months they were available until the in house version replaced it. The availability might be significantly less than 3000. But 3000 is still a lot of watches so the movement upward in price on these is still years away and crazy crazy prices are 5-10-20 years down the road. Until then it's just a fun watch to wear and run around with.
This is great. Information from the rep at Basel is probably the most accurate we will get. Has anyone else been able to confirm this?

A stunning piece and one I would love to own. My other half has the ETA red dial and she loves it. For me it's this particular piece that holds my attention.

I think it will gain value in the long run.

You can buy a bracelet. Just watch the classifieds here and WUS, they come up. $400-$450 or so.

I know that will end up being more than buying one on a bracelet but it is an option.

Yes, I think that's the way to go, it looks great on so many different straps anyway

True. And pretty much every Tudor bracelet will fit. BB, THC, even the ranger bracelet will fit.

Btw I've currently retired my bracelet-as it has been said this watch loves straps. I prefer the straps.

Bought mine on bracelet (preowned) 3 months ago. Love it. A great way to start my collection.
