I really hope this thread is real, I haven’t been able to get comfortable with the current diver 300, this would be perfect.

If you like a 41mm SMP you have nearly 25 years worth of production to choose from.

Anything about the release date, and price? I am imagining the new model will have a price increase similar to the price increase seen on the Speedmaster update. Probably the sm300 will be around 8000 euros is my guess.

Everybody who is saying if the size is smaller it’s an instant buy for me let me ask you this: would you instant buy for 8000 euros or will you look for one on second hand for around 4000 - 4500?

Nothing about a release date, but I'm with you. No way I'm paying those figures. I'll wait until the hype dies down and if I can get one at a discount or going preowned. Plenty of watches to keep me going until then.

I hope the price is the same or technically less based on the cost of the mesh bracelet in comparison to the current bracelet.

I can't imagine they would both make this up and I've bought a few omegas from them.

Can you please go back these days buy another Omega and ask them release date, thank you

I would calculate the time between Daniel Craig being seen wearing the white dial Speedmaster and when it actually came out. And then apply that timeline to the SMP to figure out an approximate release date.

Edit - I did the maths myself. Craig wore the white dial Speedy in November 2023 and it was released early March 2024. So about 4 months. I don't see Omega releasing this just before the Holidays so I'm going to guess it gets released in January or February.

And if it's just a black dial release then my bank account is safe for now. But when blue gets released (and I'm 100% certain it will), then I will have another Omega in collection.

It looks like this model is going to be pretty close to the Seamaster Professional 212.30.41.20.01.002 if you put a mesh bracelet on it. This model was produced from 2006 to 2012. 41mm, 2500 co-axial movement.

Im pretty sure the watch DC was wearing is a 42, but I wont be surprised if they release a new 39 separately, after seeing the success the BB58 is enjoying, im sure they wan't a piece of the pie.

If the one he was wearing was 42mm, what’s the point of it? What I mean is there is already a black dial Seamaster that’s 42mm. So they’d be making another black dial 42mm Seamaster with minimal changes? How would it be different than the one that’s in the catalog now? Just a mesh bracelet?

For this reason it makes the 39mm seem much more plausible to me.

I don't see the point of having Daniel Craig "leak" the new model by wearing it at the Olympics but having it be the wrong case size. The OP reported the Omega exec said the new SMP will be 39mm. And the photos look to me to be consistent with a 39mm size.

Man, I really hope this is true. Just won’t believe it until I see it though. Just got rid of my 42 mm. Couldn’t make it work on my 6.75 inch wrist.

I hear you. My wrist is just a fraction larger than yours. 42mm just seems a bridge too far for me. I can wear the 41mm SMP's just fine but the 42--just can't do it.

The previous generation wears very well. I wish the current generation had all the new improvements, but kept that case.

The pictures of the watch look small unless Mr. Craig's wrist is large.

Is it normal that i am checking this thread 20 times aday?
a smaller version without a date really appeals to me and would make it the best Sub No date replacement

The current Planet Ocean 39.5 mm has the HEV. They also made a midsize version of the current Diver 300M with the HEV. I don’t think they look any more out of place than on the 42 mm version.

It just occurred to me that I'm checking threads on this subject daily from three different watch forums. This one, Watchuseek, and the Omega Forum.
