Not at all; Costco get these probably through the same ways that the Trusted Sellers here on the forum do. They has every right to sell them if they can and make a profit. I suspect their warranty may be better than any other seller. Just saying.

Still have yet to see one at my Costco. I'm there a few times a month and stop by the watch section every time.

let's face it folks...Rolex is just another salable commodity, a high-end luxury product now available through additional sources/retailers. we've seen it happen before with 'designer' apparel brands.

to remain truly exclusive & outside of this abhorrent blasphemy prospective & current 'upwardly-mobile' types will undoubtedly/eventually have to change watch brands in order to maintain a certain air of elitism.

consider moving up a notch...Patek Philippe, Audemars-Piguet & the big daddy of them all, Vacheron-Constantin have yet to move on to Costco. the only problem/issue is that the average Joe wouldn't recognize these makes so Rolex (like BMWs & Mercedes) will remain a top seller amongst those who wish to be seen wearing one.

personally, I find this recent development tacky & hilarious to a certain extent...perhaps K-Mart is working on a Rolex AD designation as well.

It could just be me, but I kind of feel like it's special when I buy a Rolex. I like being sat down in a nice leather chair with a cold water. Not standing at the customer service with the beep of the bar code scanners going off in the background. I don't want to buy one from where I buy a bulk pack of toilet paper and cereal.

I dunno. Like I said, could just be me.

I actually enjoy these Costco threads, especially the comments that come with them. I think someone here on TRF even posted a Patek for sale at Costco once. It's sort of fun seeing what watch models pop up at ones local Costco. No harm in these threads. Although it is strange seeing one at Costco, it's still fun sharing the sightings here on TRF.

I love my Rolex and seeing one at Costco would not fade my love for it. Remember, not everyone can drop several thousand dollars on a watch, even from Costco. We are a blessed group.

I bought my missus a Ladies Cartier santos for her 30th that was 6 years ago.
It came without box and timekeeping was not spot on. She returned it they sent for service, gave it back with service proof and we sold it last week for same as we paid for it.

We even bought a designer bag and diamond earrings a few years back and returned them after a few weeks.

The 12 month no quibble return guarantee makes it well worth while.

the Rolex/Costco reference has already begun in smaller circles...was walking by the break room an hour ago & overheard the question, "hey, did she get that at Costco?". turns out someone was showing another a new DJ that his wife had given him over the weekend for their anniversary.

It's life time no quibble not 12 months; I brought back an 11 year old kayak this past year.

Blasphemy!

I think your post could possibly tic off 80% of this forums members because of the points you made.

Lynch him.

I really can't stop laughing.

I remember that you posted that in another Cosco thread. The boys here hammered you pretty hard for that one.

Great point!

On another note, I was visiting a local AD today cause I had time to burn and told him about my recent Costco encounter. He told me a story about one of his customers who bought his wife a DJ from Costco last year and then brought it in to check the warranty because it wasn't keeping good time. When the AD checked the warranty they realized that the customer was actually the second customer because the warranty had been activated over ONE full year prior to the date of purchase from Costco. Basically Costco sold him a used watch with part of the Rolex warranty already used up. The end of the story was that this particular customer ended up buying a NEW DJ from this AD and returned the other watch back to Costco.

It was broken and that's Costco's policy. It is amazing the stand they take. I paid $25 over the price of the old one and bought a new one. I'm on my third Keurig from an initial purchase. The latest Keurig was $30 cheaper than the last one I purchased. Think about the Rolex like this, you can own it as long as Costco is in business and get full price back for it if you decide you don't want it anymore or you want something else.

There was a thread recently showing a BLRO for sale at Costco. Now that is one I might have jumped on. 38k at my dealer but I believe it was upper 20's at Costco if my memory serves me right.

Costco has everything...

My Costco sometimes have BMW or Lexus for sale in the front.

If you go and look at the diamond rings, there are some from $80k to over $100k. So having Rolex watches is nothing. With the executice rewards points, buying any high ticket item will pay for your membership and then some.

Icon6 Lots of hypocrites here....

It doesn't bother me one iota that Costco sells Rolex watches. If they offer the cheapest price for a model I'm buying, that's where my money will go. I've had the AD experience, grey seller experience, and TRF trusted seller experience. All worked for me as every transaction resulted in my complete satisfaction.

I love how every one of these Costco threads has a similar post like this, as if you're the first person to piece together the irony of buying a Rolex at the same place where you buy bulk household items.
It blows me away that intelligent people are still amazed at this, and they can't wrap their head around the fact that Costco is no different than any other grey market "trusted seller"!

to keep things in perspective...we can also assume that many prospective Rolex buyers are no different than a typical Costco customer trying to get a good deal on toilet paper & Mr. Clean.
