I mentioned in another thread that I've brought back a couple of goodies from Europe.
Here's the main one. Montblanc Marcel Proust ballpen.


It couples very nicely with the Proust fountain pen.


The other goodie was a Lamy pico platinum ballpen. I gave it to a friend already.

That MB Proust set looks excellent

The ballpoint is really well designed and compliments the fountain pen very well, but at the same time, it is an excellent ballpoint in its own right.

Kai, your collection always stuns me, you have an Obama pen WOW! That is a peice of history and the Proust Ball point it so in proportion, in fact both the BP and FP have perfect proportions, well done!

Now then, when are you getting the Chaplin??

Thanks Ian. I won't get any of the skeletons since I use the pens I got and the skeletons are just too expensive to get inked. And since I use my pens I want to take them to work. Subtle elegance is the motto.
I'll get a Voltaire or a Poe or a JP Morgan next and that's about it with Montblanc. Time to branch out to other makes

More updates.
Received these 2 recently. One is a standard 149 and hopefully I'll get it frankened.
The other is a 100th historical. I had one also fine nib already but I'm going to grind this one to EF.
Also, expecting another incoming this week. This one is older than me so has to be vintage

Those are wonderful Kai. I especially like the nib on the 100th anniversary, lovely and simple but with the exquisite snow cap detail! Love the shape of it as well!

The 149 is an iconic pen. Pity they have never released a silver/plat plated 149. If all goes smoothly I'll get this one converted to plat/rhodium plated.

As for the Barley, I suppose it'll have to wait. Since they just released it last year, it will be around for a while... There are other pens higher on the wish list atm, e.g. a 75th 149 LE.

Hi John, think he means that he is going to alter the pen from it's original state. Not sure if I read it right but I think he is going to change the gold trim over to platinum, is that right Kai?

Yeah, I'm contemplating the Waterman as a future purchase, but am pretty close to pulling the trigger on an Omas Arco. Ever since Richard suggested that pen to me I've really developed a hankering for it. It's also a beauty and a great writer according to the accounts I've read. For the time being, I'm enjoying my Montblanc.

Yes. Currently trying to contact the craftsman who plated a mate's 149 from gold to rhodium. My belief is that the clip, piston and cap ring can be taken off and plated individually, but the 2 smaller cap rings are fixed so the job is quite involved.

John, I think if it were me I would put the Omas first as well. I have written with that pen as well and it really is wonderful to not only write with but as a thing of beauty to own!

I am really looking forward to seeing this Kai.
Also, one of my 149 fantasy's is to see them do it in that wonderful Bordeaux colour. I reckon that is one of the best solid colours on any pen made!
