Just for the record, Peyton is that good.
I'm rooting for the Saints, but I have no idea how it'll turn out. I just hope it's a good game and that the best team wins. |

I may wear a "black and gold", but I'm a fan of Peyton.
But I do love my "mud bugs" from up yonder in the land of swamp rats! SO: Go Saints! But WIN the damn game, not have the Colts LOSE the damn game! |

I'd like to see the Colts win. Though they make it tough to watch them play. They easily could have been 8-8 this season. Don't think they can afford to get too far behind in this one if they want to win.

Yes, pretty much. But I think there's a difference.
Maybe the Colts were cursed with bad ownership and a move was coming. Caroll Rosenbloom wanted to move the team out of Baltimore prior to trading the franchise to Robert Irsay, the new owner of the LA Rams. Irsay came into town, ran the franchise into the ground, drove away fans, drank most of the liquor in the state, lied to the governor, then snuck the team out of town overnight because he could not get a new domed stadium during a recession. With them they took their 2 NFL Championships and a Lombardi Trophy. They also lost the team name, which came from the horse racing industry in Maryland (Preakness, the middle "jewel" of the Triple Crown is held within the city limits), the colors, the records of players like Johnny Unitas and John Mackey. Maryland responded by creating the Maryland Stadium Authority, which secured a new stadium for the Orioles, and also greatly assisted the Redskins move to Landover, MD. Baltimore's hopes were crushed when expansion franchises were awarded to Jacksonville, FL and Charlotte, NC, rather than baltimore and St Louis. The NFL commissioner then advised the people of MD to "build a museum". So the MSA decided they had to "do unto others". In Cleveland, Art Modell was frustrated with his old stadium and jumped at the chance to come to Baltimore, greatly aided by his friend Al Lerner, who would become the owner of the "new"Browns. Fans and lawyers both helped make the decision to leave the Browns name, colors and history in Cleveland. The Baltimore team would be officially considered an "expansion" team, while the Browns, via NFL decree, would come back to the league in 1998. So, at the end of the day, Jacksonville could never support their team and they are about to move to LA, which was nearly the next destination of the woeful Colts, until Bob Irsay died and Peyton Manning was drafted. It's debatable whether Cleveland has contributed anything to the NFL since returning to the league. At least they don't have to look at Jim Brown in the Baltimore record books. The Ravens won the Super Bowl just 5 years after their inception. Baltimore remains the only town to win an NFL, USFL, CFL championships AND two Super Bowls (with two different teams). Plenty of NFL teams have moved, but no other Super Bowl winning team has been permanently ripped away from their city like the Colts were. |

GO COLTS!!
Part season ticket owner, from Indiana, there you go. The surgical Manning will take apart the Saints D. And Brees will take apart the Colts secondary but I think the difference will be Manning. Vikings showed how to do it if their hands weren't coated in WD-40.

I am pulling for my Saints. I am from the New Orleans area and have been loyal since 1979. I have no illusions about the challenge before them, but I am accustomed to backing a loser.....plus it is like being a fat chick at the prom....at least I made it

Just watched a wonderful story on ESPN about Drew Brees and him visiting a child with stage 4 cancer. Neat guy and a hopeful story.
Can't help but like and respect Drew even before this story.
