Probably for the best anyway. Sounds like she had an expensive watch habit.

That's happened to me so many times, don't let it get you down. Each experience will just prepare you and make you sharper for the next one! |

Oftentimes the fantasy is better than the real thing.
If you visit there often enough your paths will cross again.

You didn't seal the deal!!! She probably thought you were engaged or something at the end of your conversation. There's a fine line between being pushy, desperate, or just interested.

I'm sure she and her Date-Just are somewhere out there. We could have been putting our watches on the same watch-winder every night, but alas - it's not meant to be :)

That's an easy one - as I said I first started chatting to her about her watch. It looked really new and I asked her how long she'd had it and she told me she'd gotten it for her 21st birthday quite a long time ago - it turned out she was around my age - 27 or 28. And no I didn't ask her for her name, as is well established... I stuffed this in a big way :)

I am going through a similar situation right now, but with a girl I have loved for 15 years.
I can't even eat, and I lost about 10 pounds in the past 8 days.

When I was young I did stuff like that dozens of times and a few times that I did "hook-up" with them it became a "Charlie Harper" Two and a half men type of girlfriend and they were drunks , mental hang-ups etc. and could not get rid of them but it makes life fun.

I'm told on a somewhat regular basis that I married up, and my wife will tell you it's due to persistence. I'd be eating sushi every damn day at that same restaurant til I found her again.

You did not behave stupidly - it's sounds as though you choked due to anxiety. It is in no way helpful to castigate yourself, it will only make you less effective the next time an opportunity presents itself. The truth is you're human and it's difficult to sometimes think and/or act quickly on your feet, particularly when faced with the possibility that your actions could be met with rejection. Have a plan, because trust me, you will be confronted with this situation again (probably many times over) in your lifetime. Decide that no matter what your internal experience, you will put yourself out there and take a risk. People can handle acceptance, and despite the discomfort, people can also handle rejection. It is surely not knowing how things might have played out that is the most difficult position in which to find oneself. Learn from this experience and decide to act differently next time despite how you might be feeling. As we all know, feelings aren't always rational, and there are times we need to move out of our comfort zone, and take a risk in order to meet our own needs. I wish you the best. Faith
