Awesome post!

But DD's depreciate 40-50% off MSRP within a few years of purchase, then you have to wait for inflation to catch up with them again.

Buy a watch for life.

What happening with the postal service , stuck in a Florida snowstorm for 2 weeks now ?

Just got todays mail........nothing yet.

I think it's more like the Spanish mail having a siesta.

Check with them, maybe they are due to send it out tomorrow?

Because they can only serve for 8 years.

But actually, since Ford, most US Presidents value has gone UP by cashing in!

I bought a DD a few years ago.....I also bought a Jaguar XK8 a few years ago.......I never buy to sell, I buy to keep...there's no "profit in the future" agenda here so I have no real worries that way....

My Jaguar is still an XK8, one of the most beautiful cars ever built, doesn't mean it's worth a fortune (but that doesn't matter to me)

My DD is still a Rolex DayDate......that doesn't mean it's worth a fortune either....but it's still a Rolex DayDate....

If you want something truly for what it is....does the money really matter?......I love them both......they make me smile.......smiles are priceless

I love that...And I agree

In fact the DD has been very cost effective for me...anytime I look at another potential new watch, I find myself thinking...I have a DAYDATE.
no other watch seems to matter.

Not too many people have over $10,000 in cash at any given time. Less of a market.

A 118### DD with MOP face is my grail.

I have watched with anticipation these past few years as they have come down in price.

The earlier models (since sept 2001) seem to have leveled out at around 8k GBP on this side of the pond (12k USD at the moment) - so I for one am hoping for further reductions in price.

Those watches were close to 14k GBP when they came out and to get one for around 7k would be a steal in my eyes.
