Clive, I guess then the OP has to decide whether an inhosue movement, 1950s brushed case - polished bezel , date complication and rapid strap change mechanism are worth the difference.

Thanks folks...

Leaning to the 111 with the second hand...But I like the clean lines of the 112.

I am thinking no second hand may bug me.

I need to research what differences there are between the various 111s / 112s. Can anyone give me a quick side by side between these two???

Thanks!

LOVE the photos Saif & Pockets!

Essentially they are the same watch, but of course the 111 has the seconds hand and is (therefore) COSC, and has 'Marina' on the dial.

Earlier versions did not have the sandwich dial and had different movement decoration.

Cheers

I agree Saif. Nice photo by the way, looks like a Porsche interior

Sorry for the late reply, a lot of these questions have been asked already. Here are a couple good links that were just discussed. I had a lot of information in them regarding 111 differences (1 and 2) 112, 005, 000, etc. Take a look at these two to start...

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=113911

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=113893

Regarding price, for a mint one, I'd expect $4,500 J or newer, but these are often sought after pretty quickly. I would look at Paneristi.com (dealer market and collector market) and timezone.com (sales corner) daily and just see what pops up. Also, keep in mind the extra's that come with deal. When I bought my 111 I had several extra straps that add up to a few hundred dollars that I sold/kept.

Take your time and enjoy the hunt. 111 is awesome! Wearing mine today!

Thanks for the post / PM Mfer...all.

I should have searched for some of this info.

Much appreciated.

I meant minute hand Saif

It looks like I need to try on / think about the 111.

May be a while before I get on this dark side...but now I have some direction.

I was in the same boat as you, I really liked the 111 and the 112 and I could not decide! So I waited till I found a good deal on both! :)

Today I am wearing my 111:

But I love the simple look of the 112. My 112 arrives tomorrow so I'll post some pictures :)
