I would say to be safe she should meet him at a AD in NY where she can have the AD authenticate the watch, exchange the money and that where she is in no danger of getting hurt, robbed, etc.

Most important, it would be in a inside the AD where she is totally safe.

Seller backed out on the deal, says he is stuck in Boston and cant meet my girlfriend to give her the watch

Oh well...back to looking for Explorer I
