wow beautiful coke! well worth the wait. In asia if you work at a bank, you will get a rolex for every 10 years of service. I'm not sure if they do that now but what a way to celebrate a milestone. Now I wonder how many times you have checked your wrist today and the next few days! welcome to the 4 hand club and enjoy it!

Thanks guys! I did sleep with it. My wife was not amused. I guess the steel was cold after my shower, I hopped in bed put my arm around her and she jumped about a foot out of the bed.

She said "What is that its freezing!" I said "Its my watch honey."
Her reply... "I dont believe you are going to sleep with that thing on."
My reply "Well you just dont understand honey..."

It could have been worse, I could have been on the couch, but at least I would have had my GMT on to keep my company.

Its just amazing to me. I am finally starting to calm down. I could barely sleep. I was at an AD yesterday and I looked at some Subs to kill some time waiting on the wife. The guy noticed my GMT and was smitten, I let him have a look at it and he said if I wanted to trade he would give me top dollar. I politely declined of course. They had a new GMT IIc, my first time wearing one or handling one in person. Incredible piece, the bezel looks amazing. For me its coke or pepsi though. Much as I love the GMT IIc I love the original more. If I had the funds however I would own one of each!

Its a great feeling to have your own Rolex on your wrist, now when I wrist spot I feel different, better. At the bank yesterday a guy next to me had on a two tone DJ. I noticed as I always do, but looked down at my own and smiled inside.

Beautifull

The feeling of your first Rolex is something you'll never forget.

You look at it thousand times a day, but never at the time.

I've had the exact feeling the first Rolex I bought and also with the first one I bought NIB.

Enjoy it in health.

I tried to get the best pics I could, I have a point and shoot camera and my macro mode is a disgrace. I'll get better shots tomorrow with natural outdoor lighting I hope.

I waited over nine months to get this thing home and off layaway.

I have also checked it out, it is in fact a 16760 reference model. It was made in 1986 and as far as I can see all original. The jubilee bracelet has end links marked "455B" for whatever that is worth. I love how the tritium is starting to yellow and brown out slightly. The dial is black but is starting to fade and age too. You can see it in some shots when the light hits it just right.

Im so happy. I have achieved something that I thought I might never do. Everything got in my way, every time I was close. Now I have it. I just cant stop staring at it.

Thank you all for the support, you are a wonderful group of people and this forum is really like a family. I am very happy to have found TRF and all of you to share in my joy.

Here are the pics so far! Im not Jocke that is for sure.

Nice piece!! Congrats!!
I would say that 15 y/o is kind of young for a nice piece like that...
I waited 21 years to get my first Sub...

Good for you, you deserve it. The 16760 is a special watch, enjoy it for life. One more thing, you are the kind of guy that should be wearing a Rolex. You have a true love for the watch, not just the name on the dial. You worked hard for it and made sacrifices along the way, now you are a proud owner. Anyway, I really admire your story, congrats on your new Rolex.
