Depends where I travel--on vacation yes. When I go to Kenya to small villages--no. All depends where I am going and what I am doing--but definitely on all vacations!

For me it depends where I am travelling, some countries I would definitely not take a Rolex! Here's one of my stand-by watches an Ollech & Wajs M5

If you can't enjoy such a classic and rugged watch when outdoors and exploring...you should probably turn it back in.

For me it is not a case of having the watch in rugged conditions, I take mine underground with me for example. It is having an AK-47 pushed in your face while someone takes the watch off your wrist that makes me a little more circumspect at times

I bought my GMT 2 precisely for the reason I like to wear it when travelling abroad, mostly of the times in India or the far East. If time allowes I'd spend some time swimming with it

Have no insurance . Only trouble India's got 3 and a half hour difference it does not work with GMT2 mechanism

Good thing is when in Thailand -with so many fakes for sale- everyone probably believe it's a fake too

I fly all around the world with my Rolex... However it really depends where you are going. All my watches are insured, so I do travel with piece of mind!

It is a material thing and it can be replaced.

I always travel with mine and never had a problem. When traveling internationally I carry one of these Customs forms which proves I had the watch when I left the USA, in case I run into a problem coming back into the country. I've never had to use it but I've heard tales of Customs agents wanting to charge duty on expensive watches unless you can prove you owned it beforehand.

It feel safer and make the trip more enjoyable with cheap or no watch.
I travel Europe in 2008 with no watch, still 3 pickpocket boys in Barcelona were all over me in the train. Good thing I found out and jumped before they reach my wallet. Made me paranoid for the rest of the trip.
