That is sickening, as a father of three I struggled to watch it

Yes, using desensitization to pair positive reinforcers with "strangers," towels and balls can certainly help. Consistent and loving parenting also helps to mitigate damage. Nonetheless, the rule of thumb is the earlier abuse occurs, the more deleterious its effects. Some older children who suffer abuse have the cognitive wherewithal to recognize that the problem lies more with the perpetrator than themselves. Younger children who perceive their world through a narcissistic filter, automatically blame themselves for whatever hurt and pain has been inflicted. Interestingly, some children (and adults) who have been victimized by horrific crimes and other circumstances, e.g. victims of concentration camps, seem to emerge relatively unscathed. It will be interesting to know what issues (if any) manifest themselves at a future point in that child's life.

Didn't watch it. As an overprotective father I know it would just set me off. I've seen videos of these things before.
There are times when parents should be allowed to exact justice without recrimination.

This is appalling , how low can you go to inflict that to a defenseless baby ? I do not want to phrase what kind of punishment I deem appropriate for this creature . These are the reasons why my wife will never ever leave our son with "baby sitters" only her sister , mother can and my late mother could stay alone with him .

If I were this child's parent, someone would have to bail me out.
If that were my child or grandchild, I'd have that bitch's knee-caps blown off - end of story!!

That is just unbelievable, disgusting and shocking. I know what would have happened if it had been my child, and that woman would not have survived.

Doing that to an 11 month old baby, or any child, should be a capital offense. What kind of scumbag can do that to a child?

Heh.... Sorry but I don't even trust family and friends, with rare exception. I'm pretty picky and even close family irks me when it seems they do not treat the kids appropriately -- from feeding them often enough and correctly to how they read to or play with them or how much TV they let them watch. There are 101 things someone can do wrong that will make me blacklist them from keeping the kids.

Needless to say this has caused tension. It's not easy to look at a loved one and say, "I'm sorry but the kids will never be allowed to stay over at your place, and you need to get that idea out of your head."
