If you must have a black watch I'm sure you can find a nice one for $2640 or less.

its a lot of money for DLC...its your money...but for a bit more you can probably pick up another DLC watch in the 2ndary market from people that regret their decision...

For the love of god man don't do it! If for no other reason, if you don't like it, the watch will basically be ruined (IMO) and almost no one will buy it from you if you decide to sell it.

I guess I'm in the minority on this philosophically.

I tear down my cars, re-engineer the aerodynamics, the engine block, the suspension geometry.

Is it still a Porsche? Of course it is. Is it a "officially recognized by Porsche" car? No, but that's not the reason I bought it.

Will your DLC Rolex be a formally accepted and baptized rolex? Probably not, in the eyes of others. But it will be your work of art, it will be your watch.

I say go for it. Remember, it's only a watch.

I will say the 2640 price tag is kind of steep, I've seen some excellent work done for far less and with some guarantees.
