Ahem.....

Yeah... well... uh..... anyway......

Well, got back a while ago from the show... it was a lot of fun and the dreaded lines were not that bad; I was in and out of there in about two hours.... so.... about my vase...

Well.... We figured (hoped) it was Victorian, Circa 1880 from England and worth a million dollars....

Well.... uh......

It's Circa 1920, from Japan... and worth about 50 bucks.....

Sigh.....

I still might make it on TV though, on those after-takes they play at the end of the show I gave a pretty satirical comment on my dissapointment (I've never been shy in front of the camera) and the producers really like it. We'll see...

Well Paul .. the odds were against you after all . Even in 1940 auctioneers in Boston would have spotted valuable 19th Century "Q.Vic. personal collection and would have not let it go for $25 .
When I was living in North Yorkshire in the early '90 I met person who had an impressive collection of porcelain . I later found out that it was his grandfather that had "recuperated " most of it during the war when London was being bombarded , many people were evacuated to the English country side and many had brought "fragile " valuables . Many of these items never found their way back .
