In Middle School I would read National Geographic magazines in the school library. All those explorers, adventurers, and captains of industry wearing Rolexes really impressed me.

When I was a kid, my mother got a Datejust for her 40th birthday. I spent the next 25 years hinting that the 40th birthday Rolex should be a family tradition. In September, for my 40th, my parents presented me with a brand new GMT II... it's a great family tradition!

from that day I converted to follower of the brand.... and I can see heaven !!!!!!!! ha ha ha

I blame my mum and her friends. She had two friends who were master watchmakers who were also AD.

Parents! Dad had a GMT, Sub, many omega's. Mom has a DJ with bling. Grew up watching James Bond. Went into the USAF 1985 got a Seiko 6309-7040, had that for 20 years or so. I was "gifted" a pepsi GMT and had it for about a year, always wanted another. "Bought" my current in 2007.
