1. Hong Kong
2. Italy
3. Singapore
4. Greece
5. Switzerland
6. Iraq
7. Lebanon
8. United Kingdom
9. United Arab Emirates
10. United States

interesting to see Iraq is #6, i guess that is the volume of overseas contractors pulling in tax free cash, wanting to spend some on Rolex...

Awesome link! Not sure what the relation to actual sales is though... Let's not forget that Google's market share in one of the biggest markets in the world - China - is very small, so although a very intreresting reference I wouldn't go as far as saying this is representative for world population.

Still a great question and link!

Edit: a lot of google china traffic is routed to HK - this partially explains position #1 imho

Interesting - that may be right.

I think outside of the US, other brands get a lot more recognition. Massively heavily discounted Omega's and Breitlings, IWC's, Cartiers and AP's only exist in the US. Good luck trying to get 35% of in any other part of the world. Rolex is popular everywhere no doubt, however, there is a lot more recognition and appreciation for different brands. How often do you see someone sporting a Sinn in the states.

From a couple of Canadian Rolex owners...

Canada is probably #120 and up on the list...

Citizen, Seiko, Casio and Timex are everywhere around here

Most people I know started with Omega, including me.

Strange you say Omega falls in the same category as Seiko maybe they need to get out more as they know squat about watches, if they dont know Panerai, IWC but class Omega at Seiko level (no offence to Seiko owners, great watches).

If you consider the influence & trend, sorry but I will have to say that it's very much popular in Europe & that there are markets that really influence the quotations, especially in vintage & neo-vintage models. The Newman dial & orange hand Explorer, not forgetting the Patrizzi dial were all Italian "inventions"... In my opinion, the best Rolex "bibles" were written in Italy by Guido Mondani & Osvaldo Patrizzi... In a user point of view, I guess there are no borders for good taste ;-)

A bit of topic; but according to an article in a watch magazine I subscribe to; when the Daytona was first introduced no one was intrested in it. It was thought to be plain and boring. It was the Italian high society and fashion industry; Italians being huge Paul Newman fans; whom promoted the Daytona and made it into the popular line it is today.

On topic---> very popular in The Netherlands. Feel free to visit us at www.rolexforum.nl
