Finally had chance to check my papers, numbers match sales receipt. My sis just purchased this two tone MOP that the seller insists is a factory dial, but we have NEVER seen a MOP look like this. It is absolutely stunning, but now she is worried it is aftermarket. Any ideas?

This is a 36mm and I am a lady that likes big watches! My only dealer here said they do not authenticate and won't even look at it! They send all their watches to Dallas. Anyway, here are some pictures, does it look good? I am so excited about owning my 1st Rolex! TIA!
if at any time you open up the watch to change the dial back or do anything, make sure they align the crystal correctly.. you can see from the cyclops and the date window that the crystal could be a couple of degrees off counter clock wise... (or it could be the angle you took the picture from, but it looks shifted a little bit)...

could you please take a picture directly at the date window..showing the 28...(on the first watch in your post, not your sis) it looks as if the window was too small...but that I am sure it is just the angle.. I just want to make sure the 28 fills the window evenly... (just want to see that, if it is not too much to ask)

I'll be glad to take a pic of the date window! I appreciate your help! If it IS off, what would that mean? I'll take a picture ASAP and I appreciate you looking at it for me!

cyclops (crystal) still looks a little shifted but if it does not bother you then it is ok... I have no idea if it is fake or not.. I was just pointing out some strange stuff I saw. Better way to know is to take it to a certified watchmaker or Rolex center and have them look at it..also at the movement..(but if it has aftermarket dial, I do not know if they will check it and certify authenticity...)

Nice watch! I have the meteorite dial which was less expensive than the MOP but still pretty cool. Nice to have the super jubilee bracelet too! I think that makes a big difference from the older bracelets. Enjoy it!

The date window on the replacement dial does not align with the datewheel or datewheel overlay. You need to have someone open the back of this watch and see if the movement is genuine.

Thanks everyone! I need to get busy before work then. So far I haven't had luck in finding anyone willing to open it up to authenticate. Thought I did my homework but thanks to your expertise, spotting the small details, I am uneasy. Thanks again, and I'll check back in tonight. I have about one hour to find someone because I'll get off work after the stores close and my 3rd day will be exhausted.

Thanks everyone! I decided to take off, went to a master watch maker an dropped off my watch to have authenticated. Found a reputable one and he will look at it overnight and I pick it up in the morning. At first glance, he thinks it looks good, but like mentioned, he will need to look at the movement to be 100% sure! I'll report back in!

Good luck and welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to see that your first Rolex purchase has become so stressful. I hope your watchmaker gives you peace of mind and you can sit back and enjoy your new Rolex and this forum.

Congrats! That is a nice watch, enjoy it..

I am not trying to discourage you but the crown etching against a light colored dial is more elusive than on a black dial background. Be patient, it took me a while to find it on my Submariner.

Hugabug-

Don't know where you took it to, but there is a pretty good Rolex guy near Belmont University. (Maybe the same guy you took it to.) He is reasonably priced and does the full range of servicing. PM me if you need the name. Congrats on the new watch!

Thanks neighbor! The guy I took it to is in Green Hills, been there forever but if you didn't know where he is, you would never find him. His shop is by Trader Joe's. He checked it inside and out and feels confident it is genuine but I would appreciate the name of who you use for future reference. I'll pm you. Thanks for the referral!
