Discount?? Are you nuts? I was lucky enough to even find one at an AD at all (and therefore MSRP). The AD wouldn't even take a deposit while I went to the bank and moved money out of my savings, he did agree to hold it for 24 hours though which turned out to be all I needed.
The only way to get a SS Daytona here in the UK is to buy from an unauthorised dealer and with an extra £1000 on top of the MSRP. The only reason this one was available is because the AD had it for someone on a waiting list that never turned up (hence his not wanting a deposit). Generally speaking, AD's in the UK do not discount at all. Even on all gold Day Dates. The only way to get a cheaper price around here is to take a ferry to the Guernsey or Jersey Islands and get it VAT free but there is only one dealer on each island and the stock is subsequently appalling. |

I would have gone with the Daytona. How often do you see a SS Daytona lying around in an AD?

Hype or not, the daytona feels so good on my wrist. It's so comfortable and well balanced. I'd buy the daytona over again if I had to.
Only 1 thing better... All gold.

seems like you've wanted the daytona for forever, so, you made the right choice for you. that, and, the sub-c is readily available, so, if you flip, you'll like get most of your money back on the daytona.
how about pix? personally, i prefer the black sub-c, but that's just me. now, deciding between the black milgauss and the sub-c? that's a tougher one.... |

The black dials do seem to be easier to get in this country, we've had to put a couple of them in the window in the past 12 months because people kept turning them down. White dials seem to have a pretty strong demand still. As for the choice of watch, I would personally choose the Sub, the steel Daytona does nothing for me. In two-tone, however, it would be a different story
