I enjoyed the engine turned now I have a solid 18K yellow gold bezel and crown. The fluted yellow gold bezel defines the DJ/DD. After a while, I am sure you will upgrade that engine turned bezel to a solid 18K White gold fluted bezel. I got bored of the engine turned. I really like the jubilee dial though!

Yeah, what Rolex should have done at Baselworld to really make us all happy - is come out with a Special Edition Exp 1 or DJ and a matching custom 1911 and Knife!! Now that would have freaked the liberal European watch crowd out!!!

Montecristo, I finally did the conversion that I had talked about doing months ago. I am currently waiting for my aftermarket 2 tone jubilee to arrive. The bezel, crown, and dial with gold hands are original Rolex parts. I have a family jeweler that helped me do the conversion so I know Rolex would not touch my watch for service. The pic-not mine has given me inspiration to how versatile the DJ truly is.

Mike,lovely ss Dj,Ivory dial,Arabic numericals,Jubilee,engine turned bezel ... a very nice combination !!
![]() I think the ss engine turned bezel are very practical. It will be scratch/scuff resistant.More so than the wg fluted bezel. The Jubilee ss bracelet is also the bracelet thats least likely to show marking,of any of the Rolex bracelets. Nice looking and hard wearing !! ![]() |

Thanks Bull!
Very true about the durability of the engine-turned. I've hit it against some door jams and other things, I could only imagine what the WG fluted would do in that situation. And with the jubilee, the clasp takes the most abuse... There are tons of fine scratches on mine, but you can't do nothin about them. I wear it everyday, so scratches are bound to happen ![]() Mike ![]() |
