Lovely watch! congrats

This is another watch that I have an eyes on decades ago, still a very very handsome watch, I passed to own a explorer because I need the date.

For this reason I also have my eye on an Explorer. I would rather wear an Explorer to formal events, particularly in the evening, than a DD or DJ. And I do not think that sports watches are that suitable for evening wear.

That's a great watch. You can never go wrong with a classic Explorer - an absolutely legendary reference. Congratulations

Nice, but I predict that you will start thinking about watch #2 if you hang around here for any time.

Based on that I looked at the Submariner and Explorer. While I really like the Sub I wasn't sure about how good it would look with a suit. As a sports watch it's perfect. But to me the Explorer fit the bill for what I was looking for. It's got a nice clean classic look and it's easy to read. I chose the 36mm because I felt the 39mm were just too big for my wrists.
Good choice on the size. While I think you could pull off the 39mm, that looks about perfect on you.

BTW: Welcome to the forum. This is a great groups of people. Check out the open discussion area as well. Great fun.

Congrats on a great watch. I've seen how well this watch goes from the slopes to the board room.

Congrats on the Explorer. It looks great on your wrist. I have the 36mm version and have a hard time keeping my other watches in rotation.

good choice... I bought mine for pretty much the same reasons.... love the simple, classy and elegant look..... but, as another poster said "start thinking of your 2nd one" ..... it is a sickness.....got my explorer thinking its the only watch I will ever need.... BUT .....as much as I love my watch, I cant quit thinking of the sub...and I have to have one! probably later than sooner, but I will have one
