Retirement is 20-25 years away for me. With any luck, and compounding interest, $10k saved by not purchasing a new Rolex could support me for an entire year in retirement.

I have two very different watches - Milgauss and GMT IIc. They each have their time and place and don't really compete with each other.
I have been debating a third, but fear there would be some competition. DJII or Explorer would compete with the Milgauss, and SD or ExpII would compete with the GMT. |

I hope you're not married! Or, if you are, I hope she's broadminded!

I often dream I could be happy with one awesome watch. Then reality sets in and remembering why I love to rotate through a collection.

I have a blue sub and a daytona. I could easily do without the daytona but could not do without my blue sub and my navitimer.

Oh oh, me me! I love all my current Rolex's and other watches but when I look at grabbing a watch every morning, my first thought is always to wear this one:
It just makes me smile |

I'm happy, but it is difficult to be content. I love all my Rolex watches, but my problem is that I surf the sales forum from time to time. I see a good deal, and I just can't pass it up. Always after the grail also.
I do think that JUST MAYBE I have found something to keep me happy for a while. Should be here tomorrow

I am happy with my one, but saving for more! If I couldn't save, I'd still be happy.

I've just got my 1680 and I'm more than happy with that. But I'll soon have two when the new ExpII comes out.

I have one. I would like two. Just need to get the wife to want me to have two too.
I like to have a rotation of about 5 watchs i wear regularly. keeps it interesting and doesnt get too overwhelming. Plus, it prevents any watches from being neglected wrist time. |

I get bored with a single watch, so whenever I change up what I'm wearing, the watch becomes fresh again.

I had many watches from different brands over the last decades, including watches from really expensive brands like PP and others.
Three years ago, I sold most of them because I realized that I want only one brand, and this is Rolex. And then, I streamlined down to Rolex sporties, all stainless steel, no gold, no two tone. And then again streamlining to Subs and Sea-Dwellers. And today, I am really happy with my 116610LN, which gets 95% of wrist time. Sometimes it takes some time to finally end up with THE ONE watch that makes you happy.....I did it. And the best is: I don't have anymore this "must have" feeling for other watches....... This saves a lot of money I can use for other things.... Regards Tom |
