Where I work we have a phrase for this type of work: 'It looks like it was repaired with a hammer, chisel and blow torch.' The AD should be freaking ashamed, and should do whatever is necessary to get this watch fixed, or a perfect replacement into your hands immediately. And they should fire the cretin who screwed it up.

To be fair I've had the store manager involved and he's handling it pretty well, offered me a refund or replacement, you just don't expect this level of hassle and inconvenience on a brand new watch from a big AD. I've had a few sleepless nights about this watch, but I still love it and would be another.

I don't have "buyers remorse" even when offered a full refund on a £5k watch!

I would insist on a replacement!

Like the hands look - god knows, what else they did with the watch. I would not give them a second chance with it!

The first job does not have anything to do with watchmaking!

Tom which AD did you buy this from? Was it BNIB too?

It sure was bnib, of course I didn't notice the damage when buying it basically because im not looking for it! I definitely will be looking next time, (very closely) I won't be naming and shaming the AD because that's not fair yet (think you can guess who they are anyway)

I can't guess who they are?... The service from my AD was excellent.

If I were you I'd let the forum know where this came from so we don't get the same shoddy service.

Also think its wierd that I can see the LEC. (Or maybe thats another crown shaped fingerprint) Never seen mine at all.

He might mean a guess based on his home county... Rather a narrow field...

On every Rolex (not sure what year it started) there is a Laser Etched Coronet at 6 o'clock. It is very faint and very hard to see normally light has to catch it just right or a light has to be shined directly on it in order to see it. In fakes it appears more prominent and is easier to see even from far away.

I'm not passing judgement on you watch, just letting you know the facts of the LEC as I understand them.

Glad it's getting sorted. Is it WoS/MW or EJ or GS? To be fair though, not much was to be seen from your first 2 pix regarding to the problem. I hope you will be happy with the replacement. When will it arrive?

I think I can actually see what your talking about LEC, it's sort of like a ghost hiding there, you reckon it's also a fake? A massive national chain of AD outlets has sold me then? I really love this forum it's brilliant

Just for the record I'm not passing judgement either. I just pointed out that its there. Could just be that the lighting is just right.

You'll also notice I complimented you on your Sub in your first thread!

ps...I notice theres only 1 AD in Cumbria.

Though, to be fair, not a big national chain... I may have called it wrong.

I think the AD provided superior customer service - offered a refund or replacement. What eles could you ask for?

Lots of tyre kickers in my local AD pretending they are in the game and can afford a quality time piece, just go to argos and get a casio, they proper stupid up north! What's the point in looking if you can't afford? Mean mugging me with jealous envious eyes thinking wow how can he afford it and I can't?
