For me it's a ballpoint. I don't care for most rollers, either too thin and scratchy or to broad and leave a large stroke on today's cheap paper.
A ballpoint is more pasty, easier to control (for me) and I prefer the length. Rollers when capped and too top heavy for me. Most roller refills dry out way before they should. The MB ballpoints are very smooth and neat writers. Can you tell I prefer ballpoints??? lololol Good luck! |

Have always preferred rollerballs, even to the point i buy a MB fountain pen and then buy a rollerball to go with it, i end up never using the FP.
I have never had a problem with the rollerball refills drying out, but i have always used genuine MB refills and always replace the cap straight after use. Glad to have found other people on here that like MB pens! |

I tried 2 rollerballs in the store and both were dried out, the top stays on in the store 24/7 so I guess even when capped they dry out, I went for the BP.

I keep mine capped when not in use and I've yet to have an issue.

Have RB, BP and FP from MB
Like most, I find RB to write better but have problem on ink drying out easily even when capped. The writing also became less smooth when it will accidentally fall off from the table. Both my FP are ok but it blots out on inferior paper easily. I also almost always forget to bring along the refill bottle which adds problems when inks of FP run out. Having said all of these, I prefer the BP as it is less hassle, has longer ink life, and can write in any type of paper surface but the writing is less smooth.
Morale of the story: bring more than one type of pen and use MB penholders to store them when you bring along. ![]()

I use a MB Classique RB and never has it dried out. Not sure why others are having problems.

The RollerBall is a fantastic pen, though I have the Ballpoint Meisterstuck. I've owned my Meisterstuck BP for 5 months now and I absolutely love it!

My MB RB has never dried out in the 3 years that I have had it. Coincidentally, I used it earlier today for the first time in about 6 months and there was not any drying problem. I love the RB.

Roller Ball. It writes effortlessly, but does not last nearly as long. Mine don't seem to dry up, but they do weight less on a scale once done. I keep a 2 pack in my desk drawer. Cartier RB refills last much longer. I use Cartier Pens more now than my Mont blanc lately.

Once again, I suggest for everyone to check out fountain pens...they are amazing to write with and use. But there is a catch.....once you start using them there is no going back!!!
Take it easy.....Leo

I have a MB fountain pen but find too messy and it bleeds through my moleskine paper. Just not practical for the way I use my pen I guess.
