I am not a collector by any means, I just like watches so to me owning two watches of the exact same model and series is one too many. I like variety.

You are thinking of getting the new Subc so that would be quite a great difference between that and your 16610 and I see that as different watches but if it was me I would sell one of the duplicate to fund the subc or, fund another watch or put the money in the bank.

You should get the 16610, Sub LV and Sub C.

To complete the collection, get the Sea Dweller and DSSD as well.

Anyone here with such a collection?

Why not? Watch collecting is about pleasing yourself. So if you want it and can afford it then do it. If you ever change your mind there seems to be a ready market to buy used Rolex watches so it is not like you are stuck.

I like the way you think! An 8-pack of Subs and SDs. I'm a huge Sub fan and want to begin adding vintage ones.

Yes, that is too many. The only sane thing to do is to give one to me. I'll provide it a good home, and I don't have a Sub myself.

You are not crazy......one can't be too rich, too thin or have too many submariners!
The guy w/ the 8 pack's cool......& Mike Wood, what can I say about him....he is akin to Haile Selassie for me!

Simple answer yes. If I had 3 subs I would sell 2 and get another model, maybe a gmt. It's not me and you need to do what makes you smile. Enjoy.

Guess I'll probably sell one of the K series when the time comes for me to get the sub C.

You might donate the money to charity and get a tax write off. Or you could hand a dollar day to a homeless mendicant or street urchin every day for the next 15 or 20 years.

I happen to like a theme in a collection. Same series, different watch. Or first editions, or last editions. If you like Subs, you might want to show and appreciate their evolution. If you wear watches all the time, and you have certain social and work requirements you might consider a different style Rolex with another dial color. The two tone GMT's aren't my first choice for a more formal occasion. They tend to clash with the colors and style of my wardrobe or my wife's wardrobe. They also scream a bit with the bright two tone bezel. The black sub is muted, but the colored dial and bezel subs are pretty loud. I happen to love the look, but over the years, I've grown less excited by them. You don't see a ton of yellow cars running about for long, you know? The pepsi bezel thing is generally only appreciated by a collector.

I am sure they mean something to you, in which case I don't see why you shouldn't keep all of them. I would probably get an SD or a green sub to complete the sub line collectio.

You know what, no. If you can afford it and are not diverting child support payments, go for it!
