Business must be tough for some ADs

would hands-on miners, tradies working for mining companies in WA really spend their hard earned dough on Rolex and other luxury brands?

i have a few very good Aussie mates who i met here in London and they're back in Perth now. most of them work in Kalgoorlie and Karratha earning silly money

all their cash is spent on cars, houses, golf equipment, holidays, piss, steak and pokies. they buy their clothes at BIG W, Target etc. and pump a lot of cash into offshore tax avoidance schemes to save for a rainy day.

not one of them own anything luxury in terms of a time piece, but man they have some nice houses and cars

i know this is a gross generalisation but wouldn't other people working in the industry be doing the same? hence why said AD lost his Rolex dealership due to poor sales..

I agree, lots of money is saved and parked or spent on huge mansions and luxury cars!

When I got my watch serviced I took it to Rosendorf and was surprised that it was done in house. Last time it was sent to Melbourne.

I'm new here so don't know who this DavidSW person is that Australians are buying from, I guess I'll find out when I can find the cash for a GMT, which won't be soon as I'm one of the half dozen people here not in oil/gas or mining.

Im not in oil/gas either, however, if you do want to save $$$s, try our trusted sellers here in TRF. You will get to know them the longer you hang around.

That shows how incompetent the sales people at this AD are. I called them earlier this year and a young sounding female answered the phone. I asked how long do they take to do a valuation on some Rolex and I was told it will take several weeks as they have to send it to Rolex. I had phoned RSC beforehand and was told RSC don't do valuation of any sort. I asked the Rosendorf salesgirl why it takes so long to do a valuation and do they not have a watchmaker on site? She said no they do not have a watchmaker on site and also quoted me some B.S. price per watch

Hmm. One of us was told the wrong thing. This was a year ago maybe two. At $800 I don't tend to service until the grinding of the dry cogs keeps me awake.
