I don't post over here, but have lurked on and off over the years. David cross-posted the gathering to some other forums, it was nice to meet some new folks today. Browsing in the stores was fun. I was somewhat amused how well we were treated in the Omega boutique compared to L&B, but then I've found in the past that the best way to be treated well in L&B is to walk in with somebody that has dropped serious coin there previously.

David's vintage collection of Rollie's was a real highlight to see, his knowledge and passion are great!

Missed again? I somehow missed the fact that we changed date, I still had this down for October 22?! Bummer. I guess Sunny and I will organize our own GTG when he gets back from Paris.

Did anyone have watches on display at dinner? I think it would be cool if we could display collections, but this does raise some serious security concerns. I found pics from a euro gtg that gave me the idea- but they had literally hundreds of rare rare rare items just laying around!

I think have some things on display would be nice, but it could be more of a pain/concern than it would be worth.

Hey guys the GTG turned out great, a lot of very friendly people attended and I really enjoyed the food and activities we had set up. I do apologize for any confusion on the date as after a period of time I can not change the details of a post. This is why I ask for you to subscribe to the thread so that you can be up to date with everything. I hope to plan another GTG in a few months, thanks to all who attended it was an absolute pleasure. Cheers.

Sorry folks, the 8th was a no-go for me (as you can see).

The 22nd wouldn't have worked either, since I'll be in Wintergreen VA for the Tough Mudder race.

I'll have to do this another time.

Patrick, let me know when you get yours down to see if I can make it.

Good luck with the Tough Mudder. I'm signed up for April 2012 in the Poccanos. Should be nice and cold ;-)

As for the meet, sorry I was a no show. I had last minute family issue(s) to deal with that weekend.

Law of averages says I should be able to make the next one.

AWESOME! I'm newer to the forum and was checking to see if there were any members active in the NOVA area - looks like there are, I'd love to join the next GTG if possible! Fantastic collections, wow.

David, I know you've seen my little collection, but it appears rather puny compared to some of that stash.

Keep me posted on the next GTG. I've got limited availability in November and December - only a couple of free weekends. January is better but only by a little.
