I was fortunate to acquire the cal 2500 PO Liquidmetal LE two years ago and have no regrets. It is a beautiful and unique piece with better proportions than the new model. The thickness of the new case is a deal killer for me.

The Liquidmetal PO is perhaps Omega's most successful limited edition with production having ceased and demand still strong. Seldom a week goes by that I am not asked if I would be willing to sell mine or where might one be found for sale.

I have turned down several offers of MSRP+ for mine and although the 8500 movement is awesome, I am in no way tempted by the new model. I have owned three 8500 watches and my PO is as accurate and reliable.

Go for the Liquidmetal LE. You won't regret it.

Just buy both!! They're different enough that I can justify owning both and I enjoy them equally.

Man I love this watch! I just can't live with the arrow hands. If this had straight hands or sword hands I'd already own one. Oh well, story of my live, most watches having something i can't get over, I guess I'm just too picky.

Tempted? Oh yes!

......but I only have to look at my PO LM LE to realise I'm one of the lucky ones - It is a beautifully well balanced watch which puts a smile on my face every day.

BTW running at -6/wk since purchase 18mo ago.

Tough choice

4 weeks ago - my brother bought the liquid metal on the rubber strap from an AD in Glasgow. No pictures do the watch justice. Totally awesome looking watch. We both tried on & that was the watch that stuck out for us both by a mile.

36 months interest free\ 10% discount off retail without hardly any haggling.

If I was in market for a new watch as a daily wearer - thats what I'd be going for.

Seriously if I was in the market for a few watch & a daily wearer - thats the one I'd go for.

Cripes!!

I bought mine in Glasgow too - 'Hee Haw' off and full cash balance

BTW as far as I remember the PO LM LE only came with a bracelet. Are you referring to the newer matte finish bezel?

The only thing holding me back from the Liquid Metal PO is the date window cut-out. Seems cheap and unfinished.

With the applied markers, arrow hands, mirrored numbers etc I prefer to see the date window as 'clean and subtle' but each to their own

A 'more finished' date window could be a detail too far.

I have the 42 mm 8500 po. Its heavy at first but you get used to it. It then feels like its part of you. Since u r reminded of it constantly and your movements become more controlled because of the weight besides trying not to scratch it. It is not as thick as people say it is. Its only thicker by a few mm from the old po. It's 16 mm thick. It fits much better because of the flat glass case back. I am satisfied and its a watch for active people. It wont let u down
