The process is all about Wanting, Getting and Enjoying. This includes primary watches and pens. Because I usually spend much time in the hunting each piece, I was emotionally attached to them and had never flipped anything.

Ever since I got the Rolex bug, anything of lesser quality were not getting wrist time and probably never will. I felt that I was holding on things that other could enjoy more. I might have crossed the line from collecting to hoarding. Also, inside is telling me that Giving and Sharing can be more rewarding than just Receiving.

In 2011 I gifted away a Tudor and a DJ, and had sold six including 2 Rolexes (a peek at my small collection). I can't say they were successful flipping because in the end I didn't make money in selling. But feeling good that I am able to downsize without unnecessary attachment. And indeed Giving is more rewarding than Receiving.
Excellent attitude Roger Happy New Year
