I've bought the SD twice and, as much as I like the watch, it's just not very comfortable on me.
I'm getting a SubC again and not looking back. |

Though one. If it is a watch that will use every day and you are a pragmatic person, I'd say get the SubC as it is a) more comfortable with the adjustable bracelet, b) much better lume/readability, and c) in theory a tad more accurate. But if you are wearing it on rotation and you already have the GMTIIC, why not keep the SD 16600. It is a cult-classic, it will only go up in value from here.

i recently had to make the same decision. i chose the SD. if cost is a factor, then go with the SD. it'll be cheaper of the two. new SD's are rare these days unless someone has a safe queen out there. i think most stores are out with the old and in with the new.
sub-c has a better bracelet and clasp, better movement, a better bezel IMO (ceramic/platinum), a contemporary case shape (wider lugs) but same diameter. it looks bigger though. it's heavier. SD has the classic look and shape everyone is accustomed to. "cheaper" bracelet, aluminum bezel insert, has a date complication but no cyclops (unique for rolex), not as common in the wild. will probably be more sought after for collectors in the future as they are discontinued. but it all depends on you and what you like. it's classic vs. contemporary. i like both very much but cost was a factor in my decision. either way you'll be getting an excellent watch. |

100% SubC. Why would you want hollow links and a cheap feeling clasp?...also the ceramic bezel is looks awesome.
