The Sub C is definitely a watch you can wear daily, especially with a suit. Try on the GMTIIc too. As for the PAM and IWC, let those be your next watches! You'd have yourself a great collection.

Go for what YOU like and want. If you choose the Sub, a wise choice, 99.9% of the people will never notice it.

I can only speak from my own experience.
I went with them first then I picked up the PAM after. Now I have two killer watches that could fit any situation. I considered the IWC pilot chronological for my second watch and I think it's fantastic. But in that price range and as my only other watch, I wanted something way different and special. Just my two cents. Do what ever you think best. John

Just pick the one you would want wear daily depending in your lifestyle!!
If you have to dress in suit daily I'll would go for the IWC. If you have to go daily to several contruction sites like me the SUB it's perfect!!! 1.- Don't have to care what others think about your watch!!! 2.- Try them all. 3.- Budget!! 4.- Make up your mind..... (most dificult to me) 5.- Pull the trigger!!!! Congrats and enjoy the one you pick!! Euge |

Great advice given.
My take on it, go with the Sub-C. I say that even after the recent realization that Panerai does it for me more than Rolex. The Sub-C is the perfect EDC for all occasions & it can be worn comfortably with anything. While I am enjoying the hell out of my 312 & the strap hunting is disgustingly fun, my choice for wear with a suit is the Sub-C. For me, Panerai is the perfect second watch when you are ready for something else but the Sub-C is the better EDC if you wear a suit often. No experience with IWC. Good luck with your decision! |

My Graduated last May. I got him a vintage Air King 2 Tone. It was subtle, it was a watch he could wear everyday. However, he's now in grad school, and will finish next
dec. Guess what watch he wants? My Panerai Pam 237. Ghost. Only 400 made. It's just about passion. I own over 15 Rolex Models. Each unique, and it's a passion. Go with what you want, quit worrying about what everyone else thinks. |

X2 and the IWC has the least interesting movement so skip it.

I would go with the Sub. Its a great watch from a timepiece and daily use perspective.
The sub is like a gateway drug....gets you hooked and makes you want more. The Sub makes a great foundation to any future collection.

All 3 are great watches!
I would start with a Rolex, but that is just me. |

The IWC Pilot chronos for 2012 will all have inhouse movements and it is my understanding that they will have ceramic cases. I have seen pictures and they are really nice looking watches. They will also have a perpetual calendar Big Pilot.

I think they're too busy and unnecessarily large & expensive, but I do kind of like the spitfire chrono. Sorry to hijack the thread...carry on |

For me it's less about the brand and more about what YOU like...but... the one thing I have to say is that the Rolex is in-house, manufacturer, while I belive those other two have nicely re-worked Valjoux movements.
Now I've owned a PAM 312 and an IWC 5001 and either will give the Sub a run for it's money for the cool factor. Best, Mike |

Bringing up my original thread.. I haven't pulled the trigger yet but recently began to lean towards the Steinhart Nav B II Chrono. Everything I have read to Steinhart has been positive. I decided I rather put the ~5k towards moving out and I can buy myself the Panerai I want in a year with my first bonus. Any words on your experience with Steinhart? It is a watch I can keep for years to come so it will not be a waste. And I honestly like the look slightly more than the 3717.. |
