Yes it is very depressing and so unnecessary. They don't seem to understand or care about the importance of a happy workforce. I think their cost cutting policies will backfire too.

I saw this sign in the RSC Beverly Hills office......"The beatings will continue until morale improves."

I was thinking more along the lines of what the chemical company did to the mad lawyer in "Michael Clayton".

Just read his new blog post, he's left Rolex and gone back to his previous career. I don't blame him, working for Rolex must have really killed his ambition to become a watchmaker.

I really hoped that Rolex is a fairyland to work at but in reality most big corporations run a tight ship so its not surprising about the work conditions posted on that blog.

If I didn't think it would negatively affect my career and the countless thousands of dollars spent to get where I am, I would either confirm or deny the OP's take on the company. I also can neither confirm or deny that anyone is able to get around the parts restriction imposed by various Swiss companies, including, but not limited to, Rolex. As it is, I am in no position to make any claims, and refer you to customer relations and HR.

Perhaps the new member is the Rolex employee mentioned in the OP.

No need to be rude to him.

Completely depends on what broke and why. If an independent installed a new water pump and the pump bearing froze up in two months....I'm blaming BMW. If he installed a door handle and it failed to work after a week, I'm leaning towards the mechanic being at fault.

Yes, absolutely. I'd love to see a car manuf. try to restrict parts like Rolex does...LOL...they would fold. Rolex gets away with it because 99.5% of the population wouldn't know what a crown stem/hairspring/rotor is, much less how to install one. IMO.... Rolex is keeping the independents (with parts accounts) thin so there is a low demand for parts. That way, they (RSC) can charge you whatever they wish to fix your watch....and there will be little you can do about it.
