By removing it, it allows the bracelet to conform to the shape of your wrist a little bit better and results in a more comfortable fit. If your wrist is bigger than mine, you can replace it with one or two normal links. It is extremely comfortable in this configuration.
Thank you good sir.

Wow! Great pick up and it really suits you well. I, too, have 6.75 wrists and had been thinking how cool the DSSD is after the Deep Sea Challenge, but, I had assumed it wasn't for me, size-wise. Seeing it on you, I'll have to give this some more thought.

You've got quite the diver collection, Charles. Really cool....after that RG Daytona, maybe a vintage Sub?

Thanks Adam! I have followed your ongoing saga with the King of the Deep. Hope you find a way to live with her someday. I know it won't be a daily wearer, but it sure is a special watch and I am really glad to have it.

Thanks Dalip! Great to hear from you. Thanks for all the information and encouragement during the vetting process. Removing the Diver's Extension worked like a charm. I am really enjoying this one so far!

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. I could foresee that exact same chain of events, so I took the bull by the horns and just traded my Random mint GMTIIC on the DSSD. I figure, it is the easiest watch in my collection to replace, so what the heck.

Congrats! They are a true masterpiece of engineering! You get used to the size rather quickly and then any 40mm Rolex seems tiny and the 36 mill Datejusts and Day-Dates start to feel like a ladies watch

Never thought of removing the wetsuit extension.

Great idea. How many people do this ?

Is there a big difference in comfort.

Congrats on the DSSD !

Awesome looking watch....had one and wore it for a couple of weeks, but didn't find it comfortable....may pick up another and take out the wetsuit extension for a better fit.

Every time I see the DSSD since I flipped my I WANT ONE AGAIN!

Wear it in good health!!

beast of a watch and beast of a box! congrats Charles, i traded my dssd a few weeks ago, i missed it so much that i have another one coming to me bnib next week.

The sheer wrist presence, domed crystal, glidelock and the crown is huge so it is so easy to use. I loved wearing mine on many straps just like my panerai. Enjoy it and here is a pic of my gone but not forgoten v series.

Congrats on the DSSD !
I had heard about this trick long before I actually purchased my DSSD. Check out the link I posted earlier in the thread. You will see that the diver's extension is the length of two regular links. Basically, with it installed it is like wearing an oyster bracelet with two links stuck or welded together. It just does't flow as nicely around the wrist in that configuration.

I have also found that it is all about wrist shape, as opposed to size. I happen to have a very flat 6.75 wrist and it fits perfectly. Give it a try!

Thanks, Travis! I never knew you had a DSSD in the past. I hope it is able to find its way back home again soon. It is such a great compliment to the LVC.

Looks great...I am glad that you quickly realized the error of your ways and have another one incoming:) It is really a fantastic watch. I love all of the unique features only found on this model.
