I find the Daytona to be very comfortable but hard to read. The DS is very uncomfortable and easy to read.

Even with that I would rather the Daytona.

Not uncomfortable at all, at least for me. It all depends on your wrist size and the way you wear it.

I prefer deep sea over daytona,
but looking at your collection, you shoud get a daytona to complete it
you already have a dive watch
if money is not the issue I would get both, great oportunity!
good luck

For my life I have all the use for DSSD and none for for Daytona.

I scuba dive. I swim. I use my bezel to time several things throughout the day. I love the size. I need the date.

What fits your life ?

Buy both if it's possible. You will end up buying both for your collection. Or buy Daytona first.

I would go back to AD and wear both for 20-30 minutes while there. I think they are both great pieces, but I would want to get better feel for them. I did this with DSSD and few other watches the other day and ended-up loving the Explorer I.

Not saying that you will end up with Exp, but wearing them for longer time may help with the decision process. Especially if you are getting good discount on both.

Seems a bit like comparing an apple to an orange however only knock on Daytona is you have to be Ok not having a date and DSSD is the thickness.

I have a Daytona and love the look but it doesn't get a lot of wrist time because of the lack of date but since you have a sub, I also agree that a Daytona would go nicely in your collection.

Good luck.

I understand on having a "well rounded" collection. Covering a Sub, Daytona, Exp, DJ maybe of the rolex brand....but buy what you want and will use, not just to have a well rounded collection.

Almost all my watches are dive watches, because i dive and need them in general to be waterproof. I NEED a date. Only exception is my PAM112 I wear when i DONT want to see a date (vacation, about to go crazy, etc.).

Its completely fine being focused in having 2 daytonas B and W or a Zenith and non....or having a Sub, and SD, or even a DSSD, or having a DJ and DD.

Get what you want. Itll call to you.

I had the dssd and I flipped it. Glad I did as it was too damn tall for my tastes.....and my cuffs.

Here is my family now and I couldn't be happier.

I had a similar decision to make and ended up getting both the white Daytona and DSSD in Canada from ADs with great discounts on both like you are getting- and I love both equally and wear them both for sports or dress interchangeably- but discounts on Daytonas like ours are hard to come by so I would probably take the discounted Daytona while you can

Very different watches to be sure. You can't go wrong with either, so as others have said, buy the one you like the most. I have both, but tend to wear the sport models the most. For me, I wear either my Sub Date or original Sea Dweller by far more than the others. The Deep Sea is great, but I get tired of the size and weight for work every day, so I wear it more on a weekend. The Daytona is great also, but I use it more for dress up occasions and not every day, too much of a "scratch magnet" and hard to read. The Sub and the Sea Dweller are both perfect! Light weight, brushed bands and easy to wear.

I prefer the Daytona over Dssd. I got a Dssd about two months ago and it is heavy and bulky in comparison.
