Congratulations, Steve, on getting the SS Daytona!

I noted it has the "ROLEXROLEX" chapter ring branding. Very nice. You don't see so many Daytonas with it yet, since many of the SS Daytonas from the Z-series STILL don't have it.

Although the chapter ring branding is not my cup of tea, in real life is looks far more subtle than on pics, and that is obviously the way that Rolex is going to go, like it or not.

Thanks for sharing the pics and congrats again!

BTW: Would you be kind to post about the TIMEKEEPING when you have an idea about its precision?

Thanks Bo,

Yes, I should look into its precision. I've been so happy just to have the thing, I haven't even looked to see if it's keeping accurate time or not . I'll check over the next few days and post my results.

I'm not thrilled about the chapter ring either - but you're right, it's much more subtle in real life. do you know what was the purpose of the chapter ring inscribing anyways? I'm assuming it was done to continue the fight against conterfeits?

Yup, that was the idea behind the chapter ring, I believe.

But a BIG advantage of the CR is that you can see the serial number easily instead of having to take of the bracelet at six o' clock or checking your certificate.

On the first DJ's around 2004, the serial number was not yet engraved at six o' clock, btw, but had only the "ROLEXROLEX" and Coronet alternating engraving.
