That's one beautiful watch! A lot of gold but got me thinking. In terms of a "tool" watch, if you did a lot of diving in salt water, would'nt you be better off with the solid gold version as opposed to the SS. You would'nt have to worry about rinsing it off every time (although you would probably anyway). I think solid gold is going to make a comeback. Fashions change!

Gold is definitely making a comeback.

So, I'm hesitating between a TT Sub black dial (already have a blue) and TT GMT cer.

Opinions??
Much has been said. If you are still open to suggestions the TT GMT ceramic gets my vote

Try it on, they smile back.. Especially when it's the right choice, its like falling in love, you'll know when it happens but have no idea why it happened!!

BTW there are some sweet pics in this thread

You have a TT Blue Sub and now you like to flip the GMT for a TT Black Sub?

I hope you really like the differences in colors because if you could just imagine what you will be getting, I think you are going to flip one of them again, soon.

Just my two cents...

Sigh. You Canadians!

What he's saying is you're going to have the same watch in two different colors.

I thought that's what he meant at first....but then I read again and I was not sure. You're right it's probably a Canadian thing.

Agreed, I really wanted to love the new TT GMT and initially based on pictures I was deadset on getting one....until I had the oppurtunity to see it in person. I have the same issues, that bezel is just too loud for my taste. Not a fan of the Maxi dial either. I was on the fence trying to convince myself I loved it (how rediculouse is that, lol) and my wife walked over, looked at it and wasn't impressed either and that was the second opinion I needed to pass on buying one. I do like it, I just don't love it and I need to love a watch to spend that kind of money. I'm just not drawn to it like the old style GMT and the Sub. That being said, the "old" TT GMT black dial is one extremely fine looking piece.
In my opinion the TT Sub and Old TT GMT look extremely classy without trying to look classy. The new TT GMT just strikes me as "trying to hard" to look classy. Just my opinion, it's still a bad azz watch.

Edit to add: I MUCH prefer the new bracelet

So I am not the only one who thinks the font of the bezel needs to tone down a little...

No I thought so to. I mentioned at the start of the thread that the yellowish color of the bezel was one of my worries. I want back this morning to take another look and it and comes out more yellow in pics that it actually is. I keep going back and forth so I might hold off a bit.

I am in the exact same boat, need to find one sooner rather then later. I'm not sure if I'll go with the white or black dial though. Whichever I come across first I guess. I'm really going to have a dilemma if both become available at the same time. I can already see myself justifying buying both, lol.

I will be keeping my SD so I will take the white one. But I will not let go of the black one if one came first.

Ha, if my AD had both I will let you know, but the white one is mine...

If it were me, I would wait for 2008. I am hoping the SD will get a Maxi dial.

Borrowed the pic from a forsale post here. I was lusting after this exact model, and it sold before I could get my paws on it.

why are you going to flip your brand new GMT II stainless steel(ceramic bezel) hottest rolex on the market, no? i'm wondering...what's your opinion of the SS Sub date(new), black dial vs. SS GMT II(ceramic bezel)(black dial, black date, green sweep hand)....because i just got the SS Sub date(new), black dial, and now you guys are DRIVING ME NUTS!(as though i need to be pushed all that far)......so can you compare and contrast?

All the watches you noted above are great watches. In my case one SS watch is enough. I prefered my red/black old style GMT and the new one hardly got any wrist time. So I flipped it and bought this instead. Still a ceramic GMT but in TT

Hold your own place Dan, same guts different skins that's all. Besides, traditionally SS holds better value than TT or YG in the long run...

Agreed but.....value is of no importance if you don't like the watch!
